Basically I wanted a more comfortable, practical car. I race a formula 2000 so owning the Elise was almost redundant, it's basically a street-legal race car. I had track-pack supension and many other mods (except no forced induction) on my Elise.
Yeah, surprised by this as well. My Accord is heavier and has less hp yet better 0-60 time than the Genesis. RWD is the novelty and if I didn't need FWD for half the year I'd look at it.
It's been a long winter and this was my first real spirited drive in my new NSX. Not enough heat in the pavement or tires to really push the envelope, but she sure felt good! The Taitec exhaust sounds great and I forgot how much more comfortable the NSX is at speed than the Elise. I'd love to...

I am also confused re the Honda connection unless they will be using some of the '08 chassis. Would be very cool to see Bruno Senna in F1!
Interesting point. I watched the IRL at Iowa Speedway last year, the drivers there sustain an almost continuous 2.5-3 lateral g's due to the small size of the track. I think the bigger challenge for her would be re-learning road courses (she did fine in her F3000 days in England).
sorry, typo, front clam-shell. The fiberglass is very thin and brittle and the front airdam did not break away cleanly when I hit the concrete (that had shifted over the winter). It cracked the front clam w/ it when it broke off. The front fascia of the NSX is plastic which is far more...
One more thing: the '04 smells exactly like my '92 did. I thought that was pretty cool...
I still hang out at Lotustalk, a great forum and a great source of info for those that are seriously considering an Elise/Exige.
Thanks gents! The Elise is a great little car and an absolute hoot to drive on the race track. I gradually modified mine to the point where it was simply not at all pleasant to drive as a street car anymore: track pack suspension, decat'ed, Arqray exhaust, lowered 2nd cam engagement...
yes it is, other than needing a new clutch and 60 k service, the car is in excellent condition. I watched this car for about 3 months and finally picked it up for a ridiculously low price for an '04. It was a one-owner car from CA. The previous owner drove it as a daily commuter, 25,000...
I recently purchased this '04 Silverstone after several years NSX-less. I love it and will soon be taking it in for a new clutch and 60 K service. I had owned an '05 Elise for 3 years, owned a '92 NSX prior to that.
A small percentage of members of this board purchased their cars new. NSXtasy for one. You can do a search and find the number of new NSX's sold in the US last year, maybe 200-300? Most of those cars probably went of the door at
slightly less than MSRP. Alot were probably leased at about...
In my opinion, as a long-time Honda devotee and former NSX owner,
Honda has turned its back on the true enthusiast. I think the HSC was intended to test the waters for a second generation NSX and it recieved
mixed reviews even among hard-core enthusiasts (ie, this website) and was
almost...
I don't think it's ever going to happen (NSX-2), Honda has clearly demonstrated that it has lost interest in its former flagship. I truly can't understand this from a company that is #2 in F1, #1 in IRL and has a strong presence in virtually ever other form of motorsport. They refuse to...
That Exige is to the production model as the GT-500 JGTC version is to the production NSX, ie won't see production). Latest rumours are that Lotus will export the Exige to the US
but it will remain a 190 hp 2ZZ-GE powered car with slightly lower weight and even fewer creature comforts than the...
