WooHoo! Probably one of the best internet forum comebacks ever! Thumbs up to NSXTASY! I don't think you'll see him around that board much anymore.

Can anyone recommend a professional detailer that they have had personal experience in the Bay Area. Preferably the East Bay? I need touchup and wax/polish work done. Mobile detailer would work, too. Thanks.

Let me just say... Supras kick ass!

Evolution Imports would import an NSX-R if...

This is exactly what I am talking about. People who actually have the money to purchase vehicles in that price range wouldn't want a Mitsubishi, Nissan, Etc. Who's gonna pay $150k for a gray Market NSX or $100k for a Gray Market Skyline when you can get a U.S. Spec 355 or 360? I'll tell you...

    Wat Up?!?

Actually, I believe, "nehow" is short for "anyhow", which still doesn't really count.

I do not think $4-5k is too much to pay for importation, shipping, and conversion (LHD among other things). What I am saying is that they cannot do it profitably at that amount. I am also not arguing about the speed or desirability of the cars in question. I am just saying that at those prices...

Once again, what you are talking about cannot be done without "raping them on the price". If it could, everybody would be doing this. I agree with you that it's cool to try to import unavailable models to the U.S. for enthusiasts, but I am looking at it from purely a business and practicality...

One more Red Flag. Evolution Imports lists their address as a P.O. Box?!

These are "GRAY MARKET" vehicles as Ken had described and will most definitely not be warrantied by the manufacturer. I guess Evolution Imports will provide the warranty although they are not yet an authorized importer or dealer, I assume? Even Ferrari North America fights to warranty the Euro...

Why would they even begin to go into business and advertise cars as their own when they are obtaining the right to sell through a third party? Where is the profit in selling a $26k car for $28k after going through a third party, shipping, etc.? I know, there is none, and that is why "They...

Every comapny that I've heard of that does these "racer" imports, other than Motorex, obtains their vehicles from unscrupulous means. I know of people that are purchasing insurance payout cars in Japan, (salvage, stolen) etc. and reselling them in the States as non-street legal. It is the only...

    financing

Spartan, Everyone's situation is different and it sounds like you got an excellent rate from your CU. In fact, the best rates I have ever heard of are all from CU's. However, not everyone has access to such a CU and Peoplefirst is a good option. Did you have problems with dealers not accepting...

Peoplefirst's rate is lower than that for purchases from a dealer. Age doesn't matter.

Insurance HELP with Suspensded license and 2 points..

You won't be able to get coverage through any of the big companies for a decent price, if it all with a record like that. Try a local insurance broker, or an online one, such as insurance.com, quotesmith.com. I know of people that got cheap insurance for a car like that through those companies...

    Ferrari 355 value comparison.???

Could I ask why so cheap? $78k for a 99 f1 is way cheap. Is DC doing that bad? Or, how did you get such a deal? Anyways, congratulations on a great car at a great price!

How Old Is Everyone? And What Do You Do For Work?

I had some 2by2 people hounding me for a while. From what I deduced, it seemed to be similar to a pyramid type biz plan. Am I right, Brian?

    96 vs 97?

I think he already thought about it himself and was soliciting other people's opinions. Brad H, If higher mileage doesn't bother you, a higher mileage 97+ can be had for a similar price to a lower mileage 96. If you just want a Targa and don't care about performance, why not get a 1995, whose...
