    VERY Concerning noise...

I used a digital recorder and a musicians microphone to track down a sound. Move it all around engine/car/inside trunk/exhaust while saying where the mike is, then listen to recording. Mine was a high pitch screech, like the brakes, at WOT, which ended up being the muffler tips. Your sound might...

My name is Rob Ferretti, I make car videos and I just bought an NSX.

Rob: Though I often drive on Closterdock, it is more likely that you actually saw Passline in his 2005 Silver on Sunday. He lives near there, plus he came by my place Sunday morning [so he was on the loose]. Here is how to tell us apart: 1) He is all silver, 2) Mine has an all black nose due...

My name is Rob Ferretti, I make car videos and I just bought an NSX.

Welcome - the nsx grows on you - it takes a while to learn that everything about the car is well done [ and that it doesn't break]. Great video - welcome to the hood, I am between Tappan, NY and Englewood and often get food at mimisplate in tappan.

    3M Paint Defender System

I just sprayed my front quarter panels - so far it looks great - I have sprayed a ton of plasti-dip from a can, so I sprayed it the exact same way. I moved fast, keeping the can about 5 inches away and sprayed all areas at least three- four times with light coverage. If you are a perfectionist...

Comparison between two Roundpoint mortgage options

In the bigger picture, the differences in option one and two are negligible. If you like the house and want a house - and it is in a good neighborhood with good schools - buy it. So, then it becomes about getting the loan. I would go standard option one - and talk to your own bank [ and have...

    How to reduce flex?

I am under the impression that the "shake" was designed in to feel the road. I even think I read that somewhere. Mine had the shake the day I got it in 05 [with only seven thousand miles on it ].

    New rattle/wobble

    Excellent read, thank you.

    New rattle/wobble

I believe the tires are constructed to take the majority of cornering load from one direction [and have directional tread].
  13. silver2002

    New rattle/wobble

even though the tread may be uni-directional, you can switch the front tires, just for a test, and see if the problem moves to the other side. [keep the speed down and no real cornering].

    SOS Short Shifter Installation

Less than three hours. Its really about taking the center console out slowly and not scratching anything - there are plenty of threads about it.

    New rattle/wobble

Jack up car and spin front tire[s] - look to see that rim is "true" and not bent. Does wobble change with car speed? Side Skirt completely unrelated - it's just a plastic piece-

Night and day difference for me - especially around town.

    Bilstein vs. KWV3

I think it has to do with temperature [ of the oil inside the shocks and ambient temp]. In the cooler months, for the first mile or two, mine are clunky. Then they go quiet.

    Harness belt, collars, installation

Ti- Dave sent me to link below when I asked about collars for his anti-subs -- He said his subs are 7/8" OD. Not sure what the exact OD is of the harness bar itself - McMaster has them too -- Link

    Targa Top Seals

When you secure the top, a rod comes out and goes into the A pillar [and B pillar in back]. That may be the clunk [front "A" pillar] - a short term fix /test is to cut a plastic bag corner push it corner end first into the hole [A pillar] and then secure the top and see if sound goes away. A...

    Words of Wisdom from Instructors

I've heard great instructive one liners - or words or wisdom from instructors and others at the track. I'd like to hear the best ones you've heard or told to others. Lime Rock has a famous corner called "Big Bend". It was raining and cold. I went off; first lap, second session, of course. No...
