why does this forum have no kill section?

the nsx is one of the best perfroming sports cars on the planet? and all i ever see about them is ricers claiming to kill them

Most NSX owners I know are above "kill" stories. In most of the ricer kill stories you read about NSXs, the NSX driver didn't even bother -- just not worth the effort.

-Bob (but I did kill a Firebird once, like *that's* hard)

Street kills don't mean a dang thing anyways.
I've seen hugely outmatched cars
"Win" in a street kills section only due to things like "Other guy wasn't trying"
Too much traffic and got cut off, etc etc.
Kills are juvenile and idiotic.
When was the last time you saw a "Kills" section on the Ferrari board?
They dont have one, because they have nothing to prove.
Same as the NSX.

Street racing is also deadly - to innocent people as well as your self and the other idiot , er driver. A 'Kill' section only encourages others to engage in this dangerous, idiotic pastime. The NSX was designed with F1 cars as the inspiration, not NASCAR or NHRA. Take it to the track or autocross where the NSX shines.

Opossum's are popular hereabouts.
I hit one in my truck once at about 35mph.
It walked away.

I hit one in my NSX once too.
THAT was bad. I was only going 20mph or so, but I felt/heard it bump 3-4 times as my chin spoiler literally pushed it aside as I drove forward.
Gross.

Take a Bronco and you could catch dinner every night that way. Just drive up and down the highway and pull them from the radiator.
Already roasted and ready to eat. YUM

Killed a Deer last month glad I was driving the Saturn and not the NSX did a good number on it to scared the crap out of me.

I was driving down the street once going about 30 mph and a guy on a bicycle was going down the sidewalk the opposite direction. As he passed me, he looked back to drool a little and admire. Looking backward, he rode right into a telephone pole. I think he might have died a little after that. Does that count as a kill story?

If I was interested in racing I would take my NSX to a track where I could get a true measure of my car. Straight line/take off speed is a lame way to judge a car.

However, I was recently forced to embarrass a Ram Air TransAm, but I did it to get away from him not to race him. He was driving me crazy gunning his engine next to me. We kept getting stopped at traffic lights with 2 or three cars in front of us. When the light turned green, I would take off normally, and he would hang back until I was a couple of car lengths ahead of him. Then, he would come flying up beside me. This happened about 3 times before I decided to do something about it. At the next light I let him drop back like he had done each time before and then, as he started to accelerate, I floored my car and pulled into his lane about 3 cars lengths ahead of him. I went by a few other cars and then switched back to my orginal lane. That was enough distance to keep us from being close to each other at the rest of the lights.

While in Nashville last week I had a Ford Explorer (what was this guy thinking?) come up beside me and try to get me to race, but I ignored him and he finally exited.

This has happened to me too. Mostly Mustangs. These juvenile acts drive me crazy. I find it very difficult to fight the urge to do something about these street punks.

Then I always remember how much I have going in my life and that it is not worth getting into some risky game with some punk who had much, much less to lose than I did.

As my wife says, "if you take the bait and mess around with these punks, you are lowering yourself to their level - and that their cars are at the same class as your NSX."

And we all know that is definitely not the case.

I believe you're answering your own question.
One of the best performing sportscars on the planet does NOT need a kill section.

These are IMO more appropriate for the ego-challenged, want-to-brag-about-some-meaningless-number type souls who typically own OTHER marques.

The only trouble with driving my NSX is how others react to it. I can't drive my car without someone pulling something really silly around me just to challenge me or to display how strong their car/bike is. There is almost always a point in some drive that I have to pull over or get off the road just to avoid such a confrontation. I fear that one of these episodes will end in a accident or injury and being accused of racing when I am clearly not. Just being next to/behind/in front this other car when they pull their nonsense has come back to me as " oh, you own that car? I saw you racing or I blew your doors off".Motorcycles and Mustangs are the worst but it can be any car with a Jeff Gordon wanna be behind the wheel.
These guys need to go to a track and get an embarassing education from a good driver in a much less powerful car, like I've seen happen to Vettes/Stangs etc. at Limerock.

Definitely location. Here in Silicon Valley my NSX is met with, at best, indifference. We're just too cool around here, I guess.

It's no surprise that the NSX isn't a drag car, so there really is no point in racing it on the street. And since its qualities are well known, it doesn't generally attract a driver who is interested in that type of performance.

Most people want to street race the NSX because they have a chip on their shoulder and want to "prove" that you are an idiot for "wasting" money on the NSX when you could have just created yet another 900hp Supra. Sorry, no thanks... I know that game too well and it does nothing for an NSX driver to play it.

The NSX is about a balance of features. Technology, manners, quality, reliability, looks and performance. The excellence of the car lies in that balance. That kind of balance can really only be leveraged on a track...

From my experience (in both the Vette and the NSX) I have found that Supra and Mustang drivers are by FAR the most obnoxious when it comes to aggressively trying to force you into a race; as if racing them is somehow mandatory. It's juvenille...

You guys have to look at it from another perspective, most of the people that line up to race you while your driving by just want to be able to compare their car to yours cause odds are most of the times they cant afford it thenselves, so they want to see where they fit in, in the sports car food chain.

Its can be juxtaposed to you pulling up next to a 99 Diablo VT roadster...if the thought "i wonder what that car can do" doesn't pop into your head then...(insert what you want here) anything more that i say will only bring me more flames, but i enjoy the thumbs up i get after a quick little display of muscle

That may be true, but it's also true that "Kill Sections" are often the absolute lowest common denominator on web forums. There is always BS, trolling and trouble in the "Kill" sections.

To be honest, I really don't need to hear 100 stories a day about how the *fill in cheaper, heavily modded, car here* beat the "overpriced NSX". I've got no time to help some adolescent boost their fragile ego.

Look at the Vette forum. Even over there (a great forum with a great group of folks), the Kill Section is noticeably more hostile...

If people were all honest in being real car enthusiasts, things would be different; but they're not. Most of the time it's wet dream bench racers and jerkoffs with an axe to grind posting trash in that kind of section.
