I saw this hood on ebay and was wondering where to get one..i thought the only way to get this hood was to send your stock hood to dali racing...this says this hood is fiberglass..so where do i get it?

SONIK, THAT IS THE RM RACING HOOD,THAT RANDY USED TO SELL. IT IS THE SAME ONE THAT I HAVE. I TOOK OFF THE CENTER TAB DIVIDER ON MINE.

The hood pictured does look like the RM one. Mark at Dali modifies your stock aluminum hood and sends it back to you. I have the Dali version and the work is first rate.

i heard about the dali one..but this one says its all fiberglass..that way i could keep my stock hood too...what is price on dali hood and time it takes for them to do it?

Hi There,

This is a fiberglass molded hood, originally sold through RM racing.
They no longer make them. The only other option is the Dali hood which
modifies (permanently) your OEM hood for $500 plus shipping both
directions to AZ. I kept my OEM hood and bought the "race" version so I
could go back if I, or the next owner, wanted to. OEM hoods are over
$1000 to buy.

I had two of them, as I was going to buy another NSX, but now I'm
keeping the one I have and building it BIG.

I paid over a grand for it, and it's just like it was when I got it over
a year ago.

I looked into getting one of these hoods months back when mine got trashed by a blind 4X4 driver. Randy stated that he no longer sold them due to issues with paint shops over-baking them, shipping issues causing cracks, etc. He loss too much money. He did say he still provided carbon fiber hoods for race only applications. I didn't even want to know what the price was so I didn't ask.

I'll have a 6-8 lb CF hood out this year - the Italian CF shop that I have been working with is finally up to speed.

We have 3 versions of the hood now, (the deep dish, two scoops and the new banana boat version - pix on request) but the time it takes depends upon a complex interaction between the fab shop owners available time and motivation factor (mo money = 's faster) and my willingness to charge you more so I can pay him more (low) and the other projects in his shop at the time. So, right now is a good time to send in hoods as he says that he needs cash for April 15th.
