Where are all the Production deliveries ??

Okay, that's a totally different problem than the one I had with powdbyrice. For mine, I was trying to activate the subscription but CS was unable to do anything until the dealership completed their steps which included adding a credit card. Silly, I know, but (sorry Scott) I think the fault in my case lies with the dealership. They did not complete the steps they were supposed to, and there was nothing CS could do until they did.

Your situation looks like an actual technical problem with the car itself. To cut to the chase, that "check antenna" message seems pretty clear. Something isn't connected quite right in your car, and they need to look for hardware fixes on the vehicle itself--I doubt there's anything CS can do.

It indeed was our fault.

With other vehicle AcuraLink activations, a credit card is not required when we do it. Typically a customer calls AcuraLink if they would like the complimentary subscription and provides a CC at that time.

My thing is, why doesnt the Acuralink system allow the CS rep to enroll you?

Back to OP, I agree with DJ Iceman that it looks like a hardware issue as opposed to a software or subscription issue.

Thanks for the recommendation! This is very annoying and frustrating. I would expect they would have checked this before shipping the car. Definitely erodes the experience. Not sure what to do as I keep getting told I need to go through AcuraLink and they really aren’t doing anything.

Yup, one of the few things that can get me fired up in a customer service situation is getting the runaround. And it's a shame this experience is tarnishing what should be a time of particular joy where you should be able to just enjoy your very expensive new Acura, not deal with frustrations!

If I were you, I would focus my energy on the dealership. AcuraLink customer service really can't do anything--they can't even connect to the car, given the screen shots you posted above. So until that's fixed, I can honestly see why they'd say they can't help. I don't know why your dealership, though, isn't bending over backwards to own this issue, figure it out, and solve it for you.

As to having it checked before shipping the car, I am 100% confident that was done. I toured the PMC before taking delivery of my car, and the lengths they go to ensure every car is perfect before it leaves the factory are quite impressive. That's not to say every car is perfect, and goodness knows some little connector could have wiggled loose during the car's delivery process. What I'm less sure about is whether the dealership should have discovered this during the rather extensive pre-delivery inspection they are supposed to perform.

In any event, you're stuck with a car that has a fault, and I'm just beside myself that they're not doing everything they can to make you a happy customer.

I suspect that the problem is a technical one and not associated with Acura Link or the Dealership. When I setup my Acura Link, I found that the previous owner had not either extended the initial subscription or had never established the Acura Link Subscription from the start. So I had to deal with being a new owner, as well as setting up the subscription. I first tried Acura Link Customer Service but found that I needed to go through a Dealership first. I was able to visit my local Dealership and they did what they needed to do. The rest of the process went pretty well with Acura Link completing the process. I had an excellent internet connection from my router in the garage which facilitated the process. I never had a notice that the Antenna was not functional. So I believe you need to take it in and have the NSX Tech people communicate among themselves to determine how to test the Antenna. I originally had hopped to get Acura to release the modem so that I could connect to ATT and have a moving internet connection similar to what my 2017 Volvo has. However, Acura did not want to do that. ATT offers a $10 per month cost of connection but only with the Car's OEM modem. Adding an aftermarket modem (which is available) does not qualify for that program. In the end the Acura Link does give me information about the car and if there is a problem like locked out "They" can make it open. So long story short? It is a technical issue not a customer issue.

Another note: Setting up the modem is a complex process where long strings of identifying digits need to be accurately input. There are all sorts of controls to protect cars from hacking and mischief.

@CPatel_Bos - I believe Acura uses AT&T's cellular network (not the best really) but more important, they use CDMA and not GSM. CDMA is kind of dying though Acura should have already upgraded your unit to the 4G/LTE cellular transmitter. I am unsure what kind of new transmitter you have. Could be GSM.

This is a bit of a long shot, but knowing they use AT&T's network, are you in an area with poor AT&T service? A "no antenna" error could possibly mean no signal connectivity to the nearest AT&T cell site. Maybe try doing connecting Acuralink in front of an AT&T store.

EDIT: With that said.. I have the Hondalink app in 3 prior cars and in my current Honda Clarity. It is pretty much SH*T. I hardly ever use it anymore and the complaints on the owners groups are still ever so present. The only car company that can do software is Tesla.

My 2017 Volvo has a 4g modem having upgraded from 3g used in 2016 and earlier. In the Volvo the modem allows me to connect iPhones, iPads, and my Escort 360c. All of which connect to the internet. In the NSX as was the case with my Chevy Bolt, and Nissan Leaf the modem is used exclusively for connecting the car and the transmission of data. I am not sure where the module for the NSX is located. Anyone out there know? MyVolvo’s modem is easily accessible and some have replaced the 3g with a 4g SIM card. It may be that the NSX modem only supports Acura’s system.

I’ve never gotten Acuralink to fully work in any Acura I’ve owned or leased in the last 10 years. It’s a complete waste of my time and money. I wouldn’t bother with it. OTOH, in my GM products, OnStar absolutely rocks and can do no wrong, worth every penny I spend on it.

Acuralink should go away and Hondacura should just put OnStar units in new cars. There is precedent—My 2006 Acura RL had OnStar built in. Too bad Honda and GM couldn’t come to terms back then to continue using it.

I had the same non-communication problem a couple years ago. Worked with the Acura specialist and he got engineers involved. They couldn’t ping the car and I couldn’t get it to connect to any service. Think the buttons weren’t lighting up either? We concluded the modem device was not worked. Canceled and got a refund for AcuraLink.

About 9-10 months later during a service visit for oil change, etc. the dealer checked it and magically it worked fine.

Getting the subscription reset was a interesting. First call to CS no luck, couldn’t get it to work. Think thru the specialist he said the dealer had to activate it or load it to the system. Called my local dealer and they said no, nothing for them to do. Think they also said the selling dealer should have done it originally - which the original/selling dealer did but service was interrupted with me canceling it due to it not working.

So called CS again and it they got it activated with no drama. Quick and easy. Everyone was very helpful and I didn’t spend too much time on it, just some phone calls. I hardly ever use it so nothing critical for me. It’s up and working.

Edit... I spent the most time working with the NSX specialist and the engineers trying to get it working.

Edit 2: The specialist was the Acura NSX specialist/concierge over the phone.

I think of the service as one I hope I will not need, however shit happens and I would rather have it then not. If something happened I feel that I have access to those who can escalate what ever I might need. If I ever got jacked they could shut the car down, get me help etcetera.

What exactly is useful with acuralink? Start the car? Lock the doors? My Hondalink use to lock doors but they took it away. I can only remotely turn on climate control (aka precooling) but in practice I think I used it 3x last season. Once in a while I'll check charge status with it but it's so dang slow to update that it'll show 80% charge when it's been done for 20mins. Would have been useful for those lunch break charges. It doesn't seem worth it in the NC1 honestly so curious what you guys use it for.

It's not as practical as Tesla's app integration. Everyone else feels a century behind from that standpoint.

Great question - also how much is it per month after the trial period? I would want to make sure it's working initially (esp after hearing about potential hardware issues), but I have never used this feature in the past even though my BMW has an awesome phone app that does everything including turning on the climate control, rolling down windows, etc.).

My BMW app was pretty decent on my i3. And they didn't charge for it. Leave it up to Honda/Acura these days to have a stronger marketing/sales team than their design/engineering.

Acura link tells me what my fuel level is, the tire pressure for each tire, the overall miles driven, the oil life, lock or unlock my doors, turn on the lights, turn on the horn, locate my car, schedule service, roadside assistance to name what I see on the ap.

Think the AL app grabs error codes from the car. Had a weird situation where the app showed a Christmas tree of error codes - I have screen shots somewhere... power unit, brakes, drive system, etc. But the car showed nothing and everything worked just fine. I hit the button and called the concierge folks and they didn’t see anything either. Not sure if they can? Don’t remember what she said. I deleted the app, reinstalled it and all good.

Owner Manual/service cheldule/waranty card

I just took delivery of my 2021 Acura NSX in TOP and indigo interior about a week and a half ago and received #2452 .

Did you get a printed owner’s manual, warranty card, service scheldule? My dealer said all digital now, nothing in glove compartment. Can someone confirm this.

Check the trunk where the tire repair kit is stored. That's where mine is.

I did! It’s Where RyanRA mentioned they were. In the trunk next to the toolkit

I think the book in the trunk is called the "owner's guide" or something like that, basically an abbreviated version of the full manual. For the first several months of ownership, though, you can go on the Acura website and request them to send you the full printed book. Otherwise, it is available in PDF form via links like those sbkim provided above.
