i am having the exact same problem.my card was charged in june for the purchase price of the goods and despite numerous, polite emails i have had zero response.i too have had a number of great dealings with him prior to this,so i am mystified as to why i am being treated the way i am:confused:

I have had the same problem with Dali Racing, I ordered my product in June. He sent everything EXCEPT my floor mats which he has kept. Do you think he would send my money back? How else do you make a business profitable? You keep people's money. Nothing nets you more profit than having someone pay for something and you send them nothing. That is what you call 100% profit and only a dishonest business person can achieve such margins. Mark is around, and he recieves your emails he just chooses not to read them or respond to them. I will give you an example. I have sent emails and called him repeatedly. I never once was ignorant, belligerent or vulgar Finally I ordered the product again through my wife's emaill to see if Mark was alive and if the product was in stock. He promptly replied to my wife's email eager to sucker another customer into sending money. Since he was responding to my wife's emials enquiring about purchasing product, I kindly reminded him to send my mats, I provided the order number, my name and address. I am still waiting to see if he sends the product.

I know Mark attends NSXPO and I know one day I will attend NSXPO and if we both meet there at the same time I know I will get my product plus interest from Mark.

So Mark I suggest you start adhering to ethical business standards or your ethics will catch up to you.

It already has. Based on what I've been reading the past 6 months I would never, ever do business with him. And, its sad because I don't have first-hand experience with Dali.

However, enough people have posted the same warnings. Personally, its not the way I run a business, and its not a business I could support.

:(

Sorry to hear about everyones problems with Dali. I've ordered a few things from him in the past with no problems. I plan on ordering something from him soon and if I don't recieve it within 30 days, I'll simply contact PayPal and get my refund. Simple as that and no harm done. Just a few weeks of waiting. :(
But I still agree that this isn't how he should do business.

He must be to bizzy up dating his Gernade page.
On a more positive note I did finaly get my cup holder from him.
Its only 1 year and 3 months late.
It must have gotten lost in the mail.....
Or held up at customs....:p

That 50.00 cup holder cost him over ten grand in my bizzness.

I am not a cheap person that will get worked up over 50 bucks.

I have kids now and have learned to turn the other cheek.

But when you see him setting up a gernade web page, to rip
on another competitors product that is wrong.

He cant even produce a 50 dollar cup holder, much less a 5000 GODZILLA SC.

Well, I can honestly say that in the few orders I placed with Dali Racing over the past 4-6 months I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Mark. I am not trying to dismiss any prior comments and I hope you get things resolved, but as a business owner I know there can be extenuating circumstances and distributing issues that customers don't realize. I was told to the day when my orders would arrive (which wasn't much of a wait) and had some pleasant conversation with Mark via email. Good Luck guys!

I'm having the same problem. He's been very responsive in the past, even hand delivered parts to me at NSteXpo. I placed a new order with Mark a couple of days ago, and got the site's error page. No answer from Mark either. I also haven't received a response to an email on 9/2. His calandar says he was at Spa from 9/2 to 9/9. Did he make it back OK? Did he take off and run with the bulls? Did he get into a knife fight with MB?

He's well enough to answer this thread on 9/23. I know he seems to put things on hold when he travels to races. Not a great way to run a business IMO.

is it classed as theft if i do not get a refund on goods that i have paid both purchase price and shipping for,and recieved no goods or explanation as to when the goods will be delivered despite numerous emails sent to that company.
i have waited too long for these goods to arrive(june 03)and now i just want my money back, where do i stand?

Theft or Fraud

Personally I believe it to be Fraud. I gave my money to Mark with the belief and his guarantee that he was going to fulfill his part of the contract. ie ship the parts I ordered and paid for.

To me he has acted in a fraudulent manner. Unfortunately I do not live near him or even in the same country to make it worth my while to pursue the matter. I believe this is what he banks on. Distance from himself.

I gaurantee he would not ripoff his neighbor down the street...or maybe he would?

Maybe this is a matter I should be calling his local police department with.

Does anyone know what county/city/state police department I would contact in his local area. If enough people complained I imagine they would have to act on it.

Anyone?

Is there anyone that lives near MJ that could pick up items for us and ship them out for a small fee... it would be worth it to know you are getting what you want. Just a thought..

Netviper,

That's a very good idea. I'll pay whoever us$1000 to recover my BBS RG-R wheels from Mark Johnson. The only condition is that the wheels are still in good condition.

Henry.

Orders

Just ordered springs from him last Wednesday. Got'em Monday. Second order I placed with him, and haven't had any problems.

Sorry you guys had so much trouble...

Not a great way to run a business IMO.

Not picking sides, not saying what is wrong or what is right. But perhaps to put it into perspective, to MJ, Dali Racing is more of a "hobby" or a "labor of love" vs a business. At least that is how I interpret some of the wordings on the DR website.

I know I know, if an establishment accepts money in exchange for goods, than by definition one would argue that DR is in fact a business. If it is a business, does it have a local sales tax permit, a federal tax ID and a whole host of other documents that a company is required to have?

It has been mentioned more than once to call the BBB or local police to "go get him". But wouldn't they need such paperwork to "investigate the business". No papers = no investigation? Just thinking outloud. I hear a lot of people praise DR and a lot of people doing the opposite. And I have heard of people inferring that they will call the authorities. Two questions.....have you and if so what is the outcome?

Being one of those that has donated to MJ's cause of "pay without receiving anything" I've watched with interest over the past year as these posts pop up frequently regarding this chronic pattern of members being jilted. What's most interesting are the responses from other members whom immediately come to Mark's defense since they were one of the lucky ones that actually received their items or had their e-mails answered.
A good analogy would be, two men walking down the street, side by side when one has his wallet stolen by a stranger. Just because the lucky gent didn't have his wallet stolen it doesn't make the pickpocketter any less of a thief.

What I'm saying is as a community we shouldn't allow any members of this community to suffer from bad business practices and until we as a group say enough is enough and hold Mark accountable for everyone that orders from him and not just a few then we're going to continue seeing these threads pop up month after month.

O.K. I'm through venting.

I wish it were that simple, I live a little ways away. However saying that I do plan on going there in the future. If Mark is still in business then we may have to have a conversation about the money he owes me and others and the compounding interest I charge.

Raven,
I have stated the same/similar analogies before. But unfortunately, the people who keep defending MJ simply do not have the intelligence to understand such simple ethics. It is always like, "MJ is a great guy since he treats me well and gives me my goodies. You did not get the goodies must be because you weren't asking nicely enough. You know he is really doing this community a big favor by offering goodies for less. You know he is only doing it as a hobby, blah, blah, blah....."

I have had problems with Mark Johnson shipping goods also. Multipule emails and no responses. I started a thread on this very subject over a month ago and was called a trouble maker for bashing Mark. Bottom line is he takes your money and he will not answer your emails. My thread on this subject was quickly locked after Mark's defenders belittled my issue over my cup holder order that he had not shipped. I am happy to tell you that finally after almost giving up on ever getting the cup holder or money back, Mark shipped the cup holder. After chasing Mark for a $50 item, I sure will not buy anything from him in the future until he changes his attitude towards running this business (hobby). Some people say Mark treats this business as a hobby and we should be thankful for him single handily changing how we can mod our cars. Mark, next time you can send me the product first and then I will send you payment... :)

I saw other people's threads in the past couple of months that were complaining about not getting their product and I clamed up because I was hoping against the odds that Mark would break down and ship my floor mats.

After this thread started I could no longer wait, while others continued to ship Mark money and waited for nothing to show up.

Now I am at the point that I will make raising awareness about Dali Racing and Mark Johnson's poor ethics my part time job.

I know there are many more people out there who feel the same way as those who have taken time to reply. If everyone told their Mark Johnson story we could post it in the FAQ section where new people to the site could visit and automatically recognize that Dali Racing is a one way Deposit Machine and they shold turn and run from him.

Dali Racing

Why would anyone continue to support a business with such a terrible track record?Member of the community or not with lack of service like this he does not deserve any of my business.I would hope everyone would see the writing on the wall and not have to experience first hand the frustration that I myself have had to go through not to mention the other customers that have been jerked around.I work at a high performance wheel and tire store in Atlanta (Butlertire.com)and treatment of customers like this would never be tolerated.I know no one is perfect ,but how much energy does it take to answer someones e mail and let them know that they are not getting their product?

I was involved in a thread exactly like this last year for purchases I have yet to receive. It was amazing the responses in Mark's support. All basically saying "I received my stuff from Mark, so screw you". You must not have asked him "pretty please".
Given the depth of this problem based on the number of people that have stepped forward to complain, it boggles my mind that anybody is doing business with this man.

After one of the other guy's comments, I thought I'd just keep quiet, but now I'm in:

I was involved in a thread exactly like this last year for purchases I have yet to receive. It was amazing the responses in Mark's support. All basically saying "I received my stuff from Mark, so screw you". You must not have asked him "pretty please".

My .02 was simply to state that I've dealt with him in the past, including last week, and have been satisfied by the results. I'm sorry you haven't had the same luck, but at no time was my intent to say anything of the sort of "SCREW YOU." I'm not gloating. I'm not saying you did anything wrong, or even that I did anything right. I'm simply stating a fact of a recent transaction. AT NO TIME would I wish another NSX'er (remember the Golden Rule?) to get screwed out of any sum of money.

If we can't help others in this community from time to time, what's the point of having this chat board? Right?

As PREVIOUSLY STATED, I'm sorry you haven't had any luck with Dali. When I bought the stuff last week, I had NO IDEA there were so many unsatisfied customers. Believe me - this entire thread will give me pause the next time I'm looking to buy parts, but as I've said, with my 2 purchases, I've been satisfied.

I welcome YOUR difference of opinion. I welcome YOUR insight.
BUT - you completely misrepresented my comment. Thanks, but next time - I'll speak for myself. Your assistance is not necessary.
