Looking at today's practice #2 timesheets, Button and Barrichello were 14th and 15th, and 1.7 seconds off of the front running Ferrari. Frick, both Super Auguri cars were faster. What's going on with Honda F1?

That's disappointing...I was hoping Honda will have a better start. They will hopefully get better as the seasons progresses.

Honda's stength before in F1 was building engines. They haven't had much success since they started building their own chassis.

Their performance has been fairly random. In '05 it seemed that they were very strong and primed for some top spots; however, Sato's car would usually let him down. In '06 they just seemed to always be lagging in the back or middle. Super Auguri, was in my mind, an attempt to keep Sato in the game as well as get more racing experience.

I suppose it is interesting & pretty cool that HONDA has TWO teams competing in Formula One, as well as in so many other motorsports.

They got out qualified by their "B" team. I wonder what's going on with them... Another heart breaking season ahead of us?

Some heads better be rolling. And Sato in the top 10 is insult to injury.

What, oh what could possibly be the problem? Oh wait, maybe they couldn't get much windtunnel time because the ASCC was in it?

The guys on Speed TV tonight suggested that perhaps Honda is trying to live up to its eco-livery by reducing its fuel usage by skipping the Q3 qualifying session.

aaahhh hahahah that is too funny..........I'm excited for Super Aguri Honda, they seem to be doing really well despite the Honda Works team.

I fell asleep @ the tire change in Q3:mad: oh well just have to stay up late tonite:rolleyes:

Ahh F1 is back in season, all's right with the world.

Well, as I said before, perhaps Honda will pull something out of their arse later in the season and be more than a midfield winner like last year. However, I too am glad to see the Honda B team performing so well.

They are planning a major rework - aero, suspension and brakes - for the next race at Sepang.

Re: Cousin Acura looks good

At least Acura got something right in their ALMS P-2 cars. Well, at least at the 1/2 way point of Sebring.

Honda might be doing crappy in formula1 but for super gt(jgtc) the five nsx's qualified 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th. Its almost guaranteed that one honda is bound to win the first race of the season for super gt. This year it seems like honda will crush nissan and lexus toyota and win the championship in super gt(jgtc)

OMG I miss being able to see JGTC!!!!!!! Does anyone have any clue how I can get my hands on the races?!?!?!

Am in Japan pretty regularly these days (3x in last 6 months, 2x in April, etc) and will try to follow this as well. We had the Nismo GT500 cars on display in Yokohama in early March - pretty cool :).

Did not realize that Honda was still campaigning the NSX -- thought it was a series for "production based" cars. Are they still selling some limited "homologation special" JDM versions, like the longer NSX-R GT of a few years back ?

I looked on the website for JGTC or SuperGT as it's called now & there is a tv schedule for western viewers. I should try and look up that station or network online and see if I can purchase copies of the races

Be sure to let me know what you find. I've been trying to find a way to see those races for over 2 years now with no luck. I'll take ANYTHING!

I was browsing through yahoo and found out that you could buy footage of each race from any year through Super Autobacs in Japan. I tried going to the Super Autobacs here in Orange county but they dont offer those videos only BMI,GRIP,and other crap.

1.7 sec... crap...

they need the twin turbo back on the F1 =)

Honda's doing so great, even our car from last year qualifies in the top 10. :(

Here's hoping things pick up in Kuala Lumpur.

Re: How bad can it get?

Seems like there are some basic inexcusable organizational mistakes being made; like giving Reubens a back up car with a steering rack he's never used before without his buy-in? C'mon, how silly can things get?

The Honda "in charge" names mentioned on the broadcast never include Gil DeFerran. So I guess he's gone? What's the story there?
