Thinking about buying a couple of firearms (need suggestions)

It's one of the most perfectly built items in the world IMO. You can NOT get them to stop working. Look up video's on people trying to break them...it's incredible. The 1911 could NEVER do that.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not being critical here. I think the Glock series are fine weapons and as a whole, are exceptionally good. Many trust their lives to them and rightly so. However they are not perfect (mag release, mushy trigger).

The M1911 has protected our troops in two world wars (WWI, WWII) and two major world conflict (Korean, Vietnam). It remains popular among a large segment of LE, military, and civilians today. It is the preferred sidearm of many special forces today. Kimber is currently on contract to supply various units with 1911's including USMC Socom Det 1. The 1911 has 70+ more years of hardcore service than any Glock. Despite this, the 1911 isn't perfect either!

Heaven forbid but in our time of need, I'll grab my 1911 and you can grab your Glock. They will serve us both well. However when we run out of ammo, I can hold the 1911 by the muzzle and beat the assailant with it. I couln't do that with a plastic Glock

....then again, I carry an SA XD now.

This gun you hold, I want it!!!

I have a decent collection
.50 cal desert eagle
.45 colt officers issue mkiv series 80.

I'm a newb when it comes to firearms and I'm taking a handgun safety course class next week so I can get a concealed carrying permit. I'm looking for something easy to carry and hopefully never use. Is the Glock C27 .40 a good first weapon? TIA.

My friend was going to get an AR15 its so nice , but he got a srt8 charger instead, haha  .

He should have bought one anyway. They are not too expensive, i have a few myself  .

A Glock 27 would be a fine weapon. A lot of people swear by them. To me, i don't particularly care for the "feel" of the Glocks but imo the .40 S&W is the perfect pistol round. I also prefer the "feel" of the S&W firearms to the Glock but that is a matter of preference.

Take the class with a borrowed firearm. Most places that provide the class will also provide you with a firearm to use. You can try out the Glock and see if you like it.

Check Colts website or any Colt dealer. I own the same gun but with the DOE {Dept. of Energy} 7 1/4" barrel. They are a blast to shoot but hell to load. By the time I load 8 clips my thumb is completely numb. You don't want the full auto unless you've got around $15 grand to spend. You can get a good lightweight sporter for around 12/$1,400 possibly. Much quieter than the 223 cal.
