I am guessing he really means OUTPUT. A "line level" output would be at the pre-amp signal level, and be independent of volume settings on the output device; a "speaker" or "headphone" output would be variable.nsxtasy said:While I admit that I don't know for certain, I can't imagine why ANY input would bypass the volume controls (for obvious reasons)...
Our unit arrived yesterday, and I set it up and tested it this morning. Activation took a little longer (calling their CSR line helped speed things up). Also did the "rebate" paperwork for the at-home unit.nsx1164 said:Got the UPS shipment tracking info, and hope to get my XM Roady soon.
Since I'm moving it from car to car, I just place it on the dashboard.nsx1164 said:1) where have folks mounted the (magnetic) antenna ?
Try it and see (or, hear) for yourself.nsx1164 said:2) FM transmitter vs. cassette deck -- is the latter THAT much better, or is the difference negligible enough to just go with the more "flexible" solution ??

No.mikec said:When you activate it over the web must you pay any additional fees such as activation charge?
In the $49 price for the radio? No. In the ~$85 total of your order? Yes.mikec said:Arn't 3 months included in the price?
The deal is still available at https://xmradio.metrononline.com/xmpromotion/accesslogin.aspxspyderman33 said:wswen: Is there a new Access Key. The one you have posted no longer works..
Thanks Ken !!nsxtasy said:The new access key is XMMNHXM04
That's later than the deadline when I bought mine a month or two ago. I have a feeling that they might extend the deadline each time it expires. I could be wrong, though...nsx1164 said:the promo for the "free home kit" is for units purchased through 9/12/04.
Mail-in deadline is 10/12/04.

Yes and no. Yes, you can get a connector cable with a stereo mini phone jack at one end (for the audio output of the Roady) and two RCA plugs at the other end (for the auxiliary input). That way, the output of the Roady can go to the RCA plugs.pbassjo said:Can the kit in this deal be hard with RCA style plugs instead of FM transmitter
I'm just placing it on the front of the dashboard. Reception is almost always excellent, except on an occasional long underpass.pbassjo said:where on your NSX did you put the antenna?
The antenna looks like a small computer mouse, with the wire coming out of the end of it. It is 59 mm long and 44 mm wide.pbassjo said:exactly what is the footprint(length/width) of the antenna base?
nsxtasy said:... The problem you run into is that I think the stock stereo head unit in the NSX does not have auxiliary inputs for RCA plugs. Which is why you would need the harness that MiamieNeSeX posted a link for. At a cost twice that of the radio itself.

KIW!nsxtasy said:Thanks for the clarification, Ken. (I had previously seen the website for the Blitzsafe adapter and assumed the link from MiamieNeSeX was the same one, and I didn't click to make sure. Hence my reference to the $100 price which was in a different link, not that one. Sorry... )
I still don't know what the hell that means! I think you mean the NEO interpretation in this instance but it's still driving me crazy to know what it really is.nsxtasy said:
I thought perhaps you had thought that was the reference - I had to check the price of the XM & work it out backwards! That (the Blitzsafe) is an expensive component for what it is but there's not much alternative really - captive market, what can you say?!nsxtasy said:Thanks for the clarification, Ken. Maybe my dogs might understand it.NeoNSX said:Really? Don't worry about it... it's derived from some old scottish saying nobody knows about.
