Show a picture without the cowl in place.

Re: STMPO's NSX Front Strut Tower bar...NA1 & NA2 working windshield wiper applicatio

Was close to finishing install when I realized I have a large gap. The cowl is resting on top of the FSTB brackets. The brackets on my unit are different and appear to be much larger than the images in the above link. The overall profile seem taller.

Ross, what do you suggest I do...

Pablo....

We just got back in town from a turbo install in san fan... send me a pm, email, or call.

Regards

Pablo,

I spent some time figuring this out... from the pics... it looks like you forgot these steps from Jeff's write up on page 2..

Sorry for the delay on getting back to you...

There is no way to aviod this small cut under the plastic bezel... the plastic piece we have to trim blocks the connection in between the two shock towers..

Ant FSTB would require it...

LMK if you need help on a call

Re: STMPO's NSX Front Strut Tower bar...NA1 & NA2 working windshield wiper applicatio

Hopefully that's it, but if you look at his 3rd picture, it looks like he did trim the bezel.

I know... I did see it... we have been trying to figure it out so we installed the set up and were good...

Call if you can Pablo..

Re: STMPO's NSX Front Strut Tower bar...NA1 & NA2 working windshield wiper applicatio

i also remembered that he may forgot to get the shocks nuts out before installing the bar, but that was promptly out of my mind for it's high DUHHH status :biggrin:

Re: STMPO's NSX Front Strut Tower bar...NA1 & NA2 working windshield wiper applicatio

Ross,
I followed Jeff's instructions completely. I think I figured out what the issue is, the center bore located on the bracket is too small; doesn't clear the factory collar...

Our first few had the smaller center bore... one is on my car....its on the way back now... i'll try to install a cover and see if thats it

Re: STMPO's NSX Front Strut Tower bar...NA1 & NA2 working windshield wiper applicatio

Did you get a chance to confirm the fitment issue?
Thanks.

I have the same smaller bore on my can and my plastic shroud fits over the bar...

I really need to discuss this over the phone to try to figure it out for you...

Can you call???

Re: STMPO's NSX Front Strut Tower bar...NA1 & NA2 working windshield wiper applicatio

Received an updated FSTB with the proper clearance for the factory collar, previous fitment issues solved. Ross, thank you for all the customer support and your pledge for complete satisfaction.

Thanks Tim....

These are in stock are the part is for real...

The pics show the quality of the brackets made for wiper... they took longer than expected so they would be made to the quality of honda...

I hope owners of the FSTB post their experience of driving in the rain with the only wiper the car needs....

Re: STMPO's NSX Front Strut Tower bar...NA1 & NA2 working windshield wiper applicatio

When I opened the box with the bracket in it my first reaction was "holy S@*T this thing is serious". You don't really get an idea of how big and heavy duty the wiper bracket it is from the photos.

I'm hoping to get this bar installed tomorrow. I'll post pics once I do.

Re: STMPO's NSX Front Strut Tower bar...NA1 & NA2 working windshield wiper applicatio

Bump for a good piece but I have one question.....I forgot to mention that I am running the downforce hepa filter on my car with the cover they provided. I dont think this bar will fit with the hepa filter being there will it?

Theres quite a few of us running these cabin filters.

Yup. I'm torn here. Due to all the Alcantera in my car I want the HEPA filter, but I am loving the STMPO FSTB here. Both parts are truely functional, but they overlap and interact with each other.

Has anyone else had a chance to look into this and see if we can make this work with some modifications.

Re: STMPO's NSX Front Strut Tower bar...NA1 & NA2 working windshield wiper applicatio

Quick Review. Went out for a extended drive today with the roof off. The cowl shake is almost completely gone and this was over some very bumpy roads. The entry to high speed turns seems more precise and the car seems even flatter and this is with KW coilovers and sway bars. The other chassis stifferners are the STMPO rear brace and the NSX-R front upper and bumper chassis bars.

Re: STMPO's NSX Front Strut Tower bar...NA1 & NA2 working windshield wiper applicatio

Got mine installed today. I really wasn't sure if I'd be able to tell the difference but about 10 seconds into my test drive that thought went right out the window. It was significantly stiffened. I think it was more significant than when I put on the STMPO FCB.

If I can handle living in Seattle and having only the driver's side wiper the rest of you should be able to manage too. I like the way it looks without the passenger wiper, so I took a pic for you guys to check out..

It felt like someone snuck out and stiffened up my coilovers 3 or 4 clicks in the front. I think if you track your car at all you'd be crazy not to have one of these.

THANKS STMPO!!

Re: STMPO's NSX Front Strut Tower bar...NA1 & NA2 working windshield wiper applicatio

Gahdamn! Please tell me someone with a Zanardi has all three STMPO's! If they make a targa feel this good I can only imagine what they'd do for a NA2 coupe with manual steering on a track

Gotta ditch the NSX-R bumper and get the STMPO you'll be shocked at the difference.

Unless your body has been manipulated(cut) in the area between the front strut mounts, a front strut tower bar is not needed.

Danny

Re: STMPO's NSX Front Strut Tower bar...NA1 & NA2 working windshield wiper applicatio

I've had the opportunity to drive in some NASTY rain the past couple weeks with this bar on.

Not having the passenger wiper I can honestly say I don't miss it at all. The coverage given by the drivers' side wiper is good enough that I don't even notice the other side of the window, unless i'm trying to make a right turn. Even then it isn't enough to bother me.

From the position you sit to drive, the part of the window without a wiper is basically at the same angle as the A pillar on the left side, so you really don't even notice if you're looking straight ahead.

The ONLY thing that bothers me is having wiper fluid spray all over part of the window that doesn't get wiped off. I just carry a bottle of window cleaner and a towel in the trunk so I can clean the window whenever I need to. I also need to try blocking off the nozzle on the passenger side.

Re: STMPO's NSX Front Strut Tower bar...NA1 & NA2 working windshield wiper applicatio

I agree, no problems with rain. Haven't actually used the washers. Met up with WINGZ and it is interesting that he and I actually had the exact same impression of the front brace.

I jacked up the car the other day, put a jack stand under the right front jack point and then lowered the jack (center jack point) and like magic, the left front wheel comes off of the ground completely, only had to raise the left side around 2 inches to get the other jack stand. This was with the top off! and interestingly, I could open the door with no issues. It really does tie things together despite the nay sayers.

Re: STMPO's NSX Front Strut Tower bar...NA1 & NA2 working windshield wiper applicatio

I gotta put mine in....

Re: STMPO's NSX Front Strut Tower bar...NA1 & NA2 working windshield wiper applicatio

Anybody still buying these? I just installed mine and its bad ass........You would never know it was a targa model.....

Re: STMPO's NSX Front Strut Tower bar...NA1 & NA2 working windshield wiper applicatio

I'm hoping to get mine in this weekend, I can't decide if I should leave that other wiper in there or not for inspection purposes... thoughts?
