Speed Trial 12/27...Start YOUR Engine!!!

Regarding caravan meeting locations. I agree with what CoolNSX has suggested:

POOHbear-How about the Starbuck's at Culver and Walnut in Irvine. Everyone know's that location.

It has been our meeting place for most of our past events. If it is OK, I can provide address and direction.

Please make sure you charge up your club radio. It'll be a long drive and lonely one if you don't have it. You'll be wondering why sometimes we go slower when we are being informed by the V1 of radar signals.

Someone else can pick another stopping point near the Burbank area. We can also pick up stragglers on our way up. I believe we are taking 5 N and 14 N, right?

it would be much better to hit the 405 instead of the 5. The reason being because the road is really rough, and too many unexpecation that can happen which may delay our trip. it is still open for suggestion....

the only reason i had chosen fountain valley spot is because it is a good stop off of the 405.

OMG! I totally didn't see your post talking about the meeting points. Just ignore my previous post.

FV is fine. 405 is fine. Thanks for setting it up!

I got confirmation of registration from Tommy. Thanks Jim!

Now if I can borrow a L/XL helmet from someone (um...emvanderpol?), his lunch will be on me.
Regarding tech inspection, the dealer said everything is fine when I bought the car last month. There's about 1/4" tread left on the Falkens. Is this a problem?

I can meet you guys in Burbank if you stop there, or at that McDonald's before Magic Mountain. About 6:30ish I assume? Who's in the LA crew?

Again, thanks for the hard work, Jim. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Paul

For those that have done this, I am wondering if we bring a passenger along, will they be bored?? I am planning to have some instructor assistance for some of the laps, is there anything for the passenger to do other than to watch the cars endlessly go around in circles?

thanks for any info.

Pease join Jim, Si, and among others about 6:30 or so at McDonald's. We OC people will depart promptly at 6am.

If they have a camera they can take photos. They can eat, read a book or a magazine, talk to other bystanders, other than that there is really nothing to do unless he/she is riding in the car with you. It will probably be very cold and windy out at Willow so they should be prepared with a heavy jacket, a hat, Chap-stick and lots of water.

I might cruise out there later in the morning to watch and shoot some pics. (Big maybe)

Good luck and have fun.

Don't forget ski gloves and long underwear, just in case. Willow can get real cold in December!

how cold is it :)

what's best outfit to wear in driving, other than the driving suit?

Jeans and comfortable long sleeve shirt?

Something that won't catch fire easily. :)

If no suit, jeans and long sleeve T-shirt could work. Wear some type of gloves in case you have to pull a fellow driver out of a burning car.

28 degrees is the low for Saturday. Watch out for ice on the freeway!

PoohBear,

It would be great if I could meet ya'll when you pass through Long Beach. I could catch up with you at the Atlantic Ave on ramp on the 405.

It would be great if you could call me on my cell phone when you reach the 405/605 interchange to give me a heads up and then again when you are approaching the Atlantic Ave on ramp. This way I could hop on the freeway without slowing you down.

If you leave Fountain Valley at 6am, I would expect you about 6:20-6:30. Let me know if this works for you.

Regards,
Ryan

EVERYONE!!!! Please DO NOT go to the McDonald's @ the second meeting point. We've found out that it is about 30 minutes further than the 14 freeway.

If you can't meet us at the first meeting point, please go directly to the track or we can pick you up along the 405 pass through....PoohBEAR sowwie.. :D

From Los Angeles- Take the 5 north and take 14 north and pass Palmdale, take Rosamond exit and make a left turn, about 3 miles turn right at track entrance

Everyone, I thank you so much for going out there today. I had a blast!!!!!!!!! As a matter of fact, I am still smiling ear to ear now. Please post some picture at the picture sextion. :D

This was ABSOLUTELY FRIGGIN AMAZING!!!!! I had no idea how capable these cars were till I had the pleasure of having a professional driver take it through the course. I thought I was pretty familiar with the limits of this car, having had some pretty aggressive canyon running, and totalling one a year ago. But this was a real learning experience. Unforntunately, I think I like it too much....just like a drug dealer "first one's free." Then all the parts, travel, time, etc. etc.

Thanks to all who put this thing together. I'm definitely in for the next one sometime in February.

Testing pics!

I'm trying to post some pictures. But, it doen't seen to let me post any size bigger than this? I will try again!;)

How can i post a larger picture if the maximum size is under 100000 bytes?
