'settleing' for a color?

I settled also. I wanted a monte carlo blue one with black leather. Everytime they would be over 50,000. I wanted an NSX with just two mods an indash nav system and some cool bigger wheels. I settled for a sebring silver targa top. There was only 2 made and I could not be happier. Down the road I will be on the hunt for a blue one.

i guess i settled on a black interior instead of ivory, but that isn't a big deal. a car in great mechanical condition is far more important.

I actually stumbled on mine while car shopping for an SRT-8 variant (300, magnum, charger) back in 2006. I was almost home when I drove past Motorsports of Scottsdale for probably the 4th time that day. I saw my future girl in the preowned offerings lineup behind the fountain-lined moat. I made an appointment to look at her and fell in love instantly. I did not shop other NSX's, didn't even know about prime, just wrote a check, drove her home and have had a daily love affair with her since. Brooklands Green is dark and harder to keep clean, but she's rare and different enough to stand out at gatherings. I like different...

I *almost* got a '96 brooklands before I got my red '95, but the seller sold it before I could get there. :(

Great color.

We are the exact opposite, I almost bought a red nsx before the owner backed out on my offer and I got a green one the next day. I kinda wish I have a different flavor.

I never cared for color, just wanted an NSX however after 3 yrs of ownership I'm pheening:eek: for a imola orange

maybe this thread could serve as a portal for owners wanting to swap cars....hmmm think about it two owners having to settle and could now fulfill there dream combos.

Thats actually an *awesome* idea!

Hey just thought i chime in on what color nsx i would eventually want to get one day..but for me it has to be the 1994 nsx in red with the black roof and the gunmetal oem wheels...always loved that color combination...personally i think any nsx in red was a nice color and i really dont like regular red cars only on the nsx i think the red color looks nice..

but i am also partial to the na2 in blue with the blue leather interior looks really good ..so one day hopefully ill have those 2 nsx in my garage lol ..one can dream right...lol :biggrin:

when both me and you get our red nsx' we have to meet up for a quick photoshoot in down town TO!

I agree. It is my opinion that the color of the car can dictate the character of that car and is also the reflection of the intents of the owner. Examples:
White = purity of purpose
Red = sporting nature
Black = sinister mischief
LB Blue = classy touring
Purple = differing/alternative view
Brooklands Green = mature subtlety / understated
Yellow = exciting sun chaser
Grey = speed is all business
Metalic Lime Green = this IS an exotic
Imola Orange = damn right it is.

Personally, I'd love to get a 02-05 Imola Orange or Blue. Couldn't care less if there has been paint work so long as it is top quality. I mean, show me a Ferrari that has never had the front nose and hood painted and I will show you a Ferrari with a freckled nose!

Re-painting portions of a car is just part of the ownership of any older car if you want to keep it looking new. It is impossible to drive a NSX and not have chips along the way. Personally, I'd much rather have a re-painted hood/bumper than one spackled with paint chips.

Very nice!

Threw that pic up for you, Rob. :smile: After I hit the mega-bazillions in tonight's drawing I'm gonna buy a red/red 2005 and a silver/silver 2005. Kinda like Trix cereal! You know, lemon yellow, orange-orange yada yada.

Do you really own both of these???

Damn.....very nice! Tell me more about them!

Imola orange is a 2004 bought new in March 2005 (sight unseen, had never seen that color in person, never driven an NSX, sat in a yel/yel 2002 model once) out of the San Jose, CA, area and shipped it here. It has been wonderful, now with 30,6XX miles. Bought it to be a driver, and not a "garage queen."
LBBP is a 2005, bought from original dealer in N NJ who leased it out on a two year lease - suspect the lessee did not care for it much, as he turned it back in to the dealer with only 2,862 miles on it! Unreal. Upon opening the trunk, hood, and / or removing the targa roof the rubber seals "squeeked" so I suspect the original owner never really enjoyed the car. The only chance I had for acquiring a second NSX was either to buy a "track rat" for me, or obtain an auto trans car for Wifey, who does not drive "shiftey cars" (her words :wink: ). So it's an auto, presently with 13,000 miles.
Apologize for being so lengthy...

Nice call! Absolutely love those two colors!
