Mt timesert kit came in so I'll drop it off this week at the machinist. Apparently, I was holding him up from doing the block decking, boring and honing since he wanted to do it after the Timeserts were installed.
The rotating assembly balance should be done, last I talked with him he said all of the weights had been figured out and he was ready to go.
Also, he did a pre-disassembly pressure test on the heads and said they were in excellent shape. I'm going to go ahead and have everything disassembled, valves measured, decarboned, cut, and polished. Then do the 3-angle cut, replace the guides, and then figure out what to do with the springs/retainers/seats.
I'll see if he can also do what Batmans did on sharpening the intake port divider walls. I'm going to hold off on the fancy head coatings though
Lesson to others contemplating doing engine rebuilds:
I should have gotten him all these parts BEFORE racing season started  His racing customers, rightfully so, have priority. I'm in no hurry and just pleased that it's in good hands. Also, you may have some bargaining power on the machining prices too during the "off season." Of course, that really wasn't a concern since machining costs pale in comparison to the aftermarket parts prices
