If appearance is your main concern, then you have wasted quite a bit of money in purchasing an NSX. There are many cars which look just as nice for much less money IMHO.

I can agree with what you are saying about the wieght issues, BUT "there are many cars which look as nice as the NSX for less money" ???? WHAT???

Please, give me an example..........

The NSX is better looking then most cars over $100K

:D

Well, obviously looks are subjective, but here are a few I think are just as nice for less money:

Lexus SC430
BMW M3
Infiniti G35 Coupe
Porsche Boxster (if you add about $10k in "appearance" options)

Actually, I think the Lexus is the nicest looking car on the road today. If they had come in a manual transmission, I'd probably be driving one instead of my NSX. But the NSX obviously performs better. $80k is a lot to pay for looks.

BTW, the Porsche, G35 and the M3 are nice looking cars, BUT they are a dime a dozen...at least here in So Cal anyway.....

The NSX is better looking IMHO by far and is waaaay more rare...

Yes, performance is nice, real nice....but I got enough tickets already.

You and ONLY the person sitting next to you in the car since those rear seats are so dang useless!!

1st Gen Soarer looks so much better. (But I'm a little biased. ;) )

It is absolutely hedious and you compare it to the NSX???? Then again beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Someone did find Roseanne Barr attractive enough to kiss.

Even if the SC has a stick shift, it would not even begin to approach the dynamics of the NSX. Anyway, putting a stick shift on a Lexus is like reducing breast size on porn stars--completely against the original intended purpose. :D

Now, in absolute terms, I really like the SC's interior design and overall exterior shape. However, I'm not too crazy about the headlights and the lower portion of the front. IMO, they try too hard to make it bling, and lost the stoic feel of luxury cars.

The SC is a "love it or hate it" kind of car. This usually means the car looks good only from certain angles. Proportion is a critical and I personally dislike the bloated bottom half of the SC, and this includes the 350Z. Must have something to do with chassis rigidity design as they are from different companies. Reminds me of Queen's Fat Bottom Girls. Also, the SC look is still new, whereas the NSX has been around long enough not to be considered "trendy." To me, this comparison is like my teenage kids thinking the Back Street Boys was more successful than the Beetles a few years back.

I think the SC's a nice car. When I'm married, if my wife wanted one, I would approve! As for me, I think it's ugly looking stock. I saw one once that was black and lowered with some nice wheels. Now that one looked really nice!

I agree. This thread was broken off of another one where someone was suggesting that some NSX owners do not care about performance and are only interested in style. So I suggested they should be driving one of these, obviously less expensive than a NSX and just as nice looking IMO.

I did test-drive the SC430 though and I can tell you that it handles extremely well for a heavy car. You would be surprised at how fast you can take corners. The suspension is firmer than you would think would come on a Lexus. The engine is great, but it needs a stick shift. Perhaps they should put a "sports package" as an option which would have a stick shift (or the sequential manual from the MR2 Spyder), tighter suspension, and larger brakes. If they did that, I would definately be interested. I love the styling and the retractable hard-top. And the stock stereo is said to be the best of any car on the market.

I did respect you, until now

I thought that you had good taste, a yellow 03 NSX purchased at Greenwich, I thought that you were following in my footsteps, but now, you've gone out of bounds. Yes looks are subjective, the SC430 looks good from one area only, the inside is beautiful. It also has all the toys. It's a sporty luxury car, not a "sports car". It doesn't even compare, it's not exotic. I had a 1992 SC300 with a 5 speed, it was a nice car, and attractive for what it was. You had better get back in line, or else I'll have Greenwich repossess your car!!!!!   ;) :D

I've got friends in Rockland, you can run, but you can't hide (especially in a yellow car, I know, I've tried)!!!!!:D :D :D :D :D :D

Well I wouldn't call it HIDEOUS.

It's a beautiful car. period. Just as the NSX is a beautiful car. period. Both are gorgeous in their different ways.

No need to knock a car down just because it doesn't have the N, S and X on it.

It is a fairly nice car over all, but I prefer the looks of the SC300/400 over this newer style. The car is a little too much of a bubble look for me. On the same note, I don't particularly care for the Audi TT looks as well. They are all not ugly, but just not my taste. I like the G35 Coupe looks better.

FYI, the SC430 placed last in a comparison between it, the maserati, sl500, caddy XLR and porsche 911 in Road and Track.

I guess they did not really care for it either..

.. but as you say... looks are subjective.
SC-430 with the top down looks like a rolling antique bathtub. :eek:Ever notice if a person is not over 6' they look like they are taking a bath in it.:D

This is correct. I ordered a SC430 (when they first came out) and did not accept it after I spent about an hour walking around it and trying like hell to like it. When I drove it, it was waaaay to smooth. The driver's seat is restricted in reclining due to the little useless rear seats and I could not get real comfortable.

I like the looks of the car directly from the side with the top up. I agree with the bathtup analogy. A white one with the top down from the rear really looks like a bathtub.

I would say the Lexus is hands down one of the UGLIEST cars in production today. I think Pontiac Aztek with a drop top when I see them. Too ugly for me!
