Returning to Vegas prior to NSXPO2012

Hi

That is great news Howard. I'm not sure if it helps in any way if I send you a daily report of the gas prices over here :-)

On sunday 9th of september I have planned to go for a hike up in the Red Rock area. Try to get ths done as early as possible. It gets a little bit hotter in LV than I am used to so early as possible is best.

Then I have nothing planned for sunday yet. So we could meet for lunch somewhere. I will have a rental so I get around. I also have plenty of gps things so just let me know where a lunch could be and I will find it.

I will probably have a us phonenumber on friday whicj I can post here.

I will leave Las Vegas in the morning on wednesday which is 12th of september. I will drive to Green River where I will stay until thursday morning and do the last leg to NSXPO.

I'm on my cellphone now. When I get up I will post a link to where I will be staying in Green River (and distances and more details). Where I will stop for lunch and also to take some pictures along the route.

How fast you can drive? Who knows. The only thing that is for certain is that if I am caught by the policie for speeding then it would be a hell of a lot cheaper than speeding in Norway. My last big fine here was $1500 and in addition I lost my lisence for three months doing 127km/h in a 90 zone.

Best regards

Hi Martin; Yes it is going to be a wee bit warmer than I'm used to also. I checked and average hi temp in LV on 9/11 is 96, and the record hi was 108. I've been keeping tabs on temps there this summer, and I've seen 113 recently. Man that's hot! The warmest I ever personally endured was 105 in Sacramento CA back in 1956 with no AC.
It's not the fine for speeding as much as points on my license, and insurance going up. I got nailed in a speed trap last fall (61 in a 45 zone in Virginia) where radar detectors are illegal and don't want another one. I remember seeing some kind of a cop show on TV, where they were patrolling I15 between LA and LV, and they were targeting drivers over 100MPH, or too slow (drunks).
I've got Lance's # and I'll give you my mobile # when I get there. Howard

.......speeding in Norway. My last big fine here was $1500 and in addition I lost my lisence for three months doing 127km/h in a 90 zone.

That would be 56 mph to 79 mph, so for 23 mph over cost you $1,500!!!!! Did you insurance go up?

Hi Lance

Yes $1500. It would have been almost $1700 but I did confess to beeing a criminal. The cop had me on video (he was following us) so I did not have a choice in the matter at all.

No my insurance did not go up. What I spent on fuel went down to zero for three months. So that was the good thing.

The insurance don't go up here in Norway if you are caught speeding. However it cost pretty much to insure things over here. The NSX alone is about $1500 per year. And then I have the Civic Mugen Si. And the Kawasaki ZXR400 and the KTM Duke 200 and myself and my apartment and and and

The police over here use laser LTI 2020 or they are on stake outs in unmarked cars along the way. So you never know. I have been pretty lucky.

Hi

Then I'm on my way. It is 5 in the morning and I'm on the bus on my way to the airport. Then in about 20 hours I will be in Vegas.

It's raining cats dogs and hippos here. It is 9 celcius which is 48 fahrenheit.

In the winter we have about -10 degrees Kelvin here :-)

It will be good with some sun in Vegas. I will be at the C&C on saturday. See you there if you will be there.

Best regards

How are you Vegas people who are driving to NSXPO getting to Boulder? Are you going through Grand Junction, CO? I'm still planning my route and haven't decided which way to go yet. If there is a huge group of people caravaning together, it may influence my decision. Thanks.

BTW I have a radar detector (Bel GX65, a clone of the Escort 9500ix).

Hi

I am all hooked up. Here is my us phonenumber 702 3536076.

I will be at the Car and Coffee thing tomorrow morning. Now I am walking around..it seems as though the thing I am doing the most is searching for the exit there's slotmachines everywhere.

I said so in 2010 and I am saying it again:I know I am crazy, but this place make me look and feel normal...pretty scary would't you say? :-)

Best regards

Hi

It's getting close to departure.

It seems as though I will be leaving Hertz at the airport at about 10 tomorrow.

I will drive to Washington City and have lunch. Then push on to Green River where I will stay the night.

Then on to the NSXPO hotel.

Here is my phonenumber again 702 3536076

Best regards

Hi

Thanks.

I left LV at 1015 not 1000. My plan was to be at Washington City to have lunch before 12. I was there at 1205.:-)

There were a lot of road work on the way. And eventhough I drove a fat pig I managed to do 69 mph all the way from LV to Green River which is not bad.

Howard and I had dinner next to the motel. Now I am ready for some sleep and then we are off for the last 349 miles to Omni from here tomorrow.

Best regards

Keep us posted!

Hi

Back "home" in Vegas. I got here yesterday. The boat(Camaro) was returned yesterday to it's dock.

I am now a full fledge captain. Driving that thing was similar to beeing a captain on a boat in a storm. You set out a course and then tries to get there in a way.

I really miss the NSX's driveability. Yes the Camaro had some power. But going through corners was let's say "interesting" :-)

Returning to Norway on tuesday next week. What I will return to workwise I do not know. I know I do a hell of a job way beyond what could be expected with the limitatons I have. That is the feedback that I got from every customer I have dealt with. So I just have to see if my services are appriciated in a better way than it has been in the past from my employer.

I will try to be at C&C on saturday. Got in there a little late the last time. The breakfast was very nice. This saturday I will get around and watch the cars a little bit earlier.

Best regards

It was great to see you again in Colorado, martin. I loved how you marked the Camaro with tape spelling out "NSX". :D Good luck with work, and have a safe trip home!
