RA-1 as daily driver?

I get it. Its like the burger flippers at Mc Donalds claim ownership of that corporations success.

Oh, and thanks for vista...its great

I can say that I and my team are currently personally responsible for the design and end quality of the #1 advertised selling feature (Device Stage) for Windows 7, Microsoft's most important product and a big bet in a very challenging ecconomy. That's about as good of resume fodder as your going to get in the world of computer science.

AS to Vista... the new audio UI in Vista was great, which is what I worked on. I fought very hard to try and get the UAC prompts left out and class installer left alone. They were battles I couldn't win. Are you also going to beat up the NASA team that built the mars rover over the columbia shuttle tragedy?

I am glad you get some much pride out of your $50 open door memberships. They make you special.

Try more like $5000. That's what it costs after you donate hundreds of hours of travel and time. With that said, I guess me and Eddie we'll be finding out at tonight's seasonal award banquet just how special we are.... at the VFW... surrounded by a bunch of 60 year olds. LOL. :)

BTW, who am I defending against here? Have you ever accomplished anything as a driver with an automobile- aside from giving yourself a woody with your fast street car?

I'll tell you what. Forum smack talk is cheap. You think I'm a one shot regional wonder and don't have what it takes... I'll rise to your challenge. My national competition license is in the mail. I'll go out of region with you next season, and we'll see if you have what it takes to go wheel to wheel with me in a sprint. Crap, you have three hundred hp on me, "faster than my dedicated track car" as you said... should be a walk in the park. I lose, I'll pay your day.

Of course, considering you seem to be having traction problems accelerating in a straight line in the dry at street speeds... and think you need RA1's to get groceries... and once said you shouldn't quit your day job to be a drag racer.... I think I have a pretty good precursor of what to expect.

No, I didnt. The result I wanted was to determine if it was a legitimate way to improve traction, Not to have some dimwit judge the value of any street car that goes over 70 mph.

Right. To summarize this entire thread another way:

"I pick up 4X8 sheets of plywood from time to time at the home depot. I have a Supercharged F650 Proloader XLT as my daily driver, since it shouldn't just be commercial contractors with a ten thousand pound towing capacity. I see that Caterpillar offers grippier off-road only tires. I don't go off-road, but they still won't be too noisy.. right? "

This is quite possibly one of the most hilarious treads I've ever seen.
To top it all off John says to me :
"Its as if NSXPrime is a time machine, and I am talking to myself from 2001"

Hah! So true!

Thanks for the laughs guys, and keep the boulevard pimpin' to a minimum. :)

knowing John for years, and seeing he's progressed from one side of the enthusiast's circle to the others, I found it amazing that he's getting aggressive these days, waking up at the wrong side of the bed? or the race gas(from this year's wheel to wheel racings) getting into your vein??

I'm with Eddie that I kind of enjoying the pop corn...

and then someone mentioned strip clubs, strokes, and wood! Where's the NSFW pics??

to OP, i guessed the general consensus is that you don't need R compound nor it's efficient. (or making any economical sense) But then I'm with John that what about just try it and then tell us if it's worth your money??

He must have been more impressive in 2001:biggrin::wink:

Heh...you should ask him about his "I brake *really* hard on the street and I need a BBK" conversation he had with me back then too.

Its ok, we all go through this phase of auto enthusiasm. Some will progress onward, and others will stay in this phase forever.

Different strokes for different folks (as was said above).

Hah ha. It's a true story.

I used to brake "so hard" on the street that I had SPARKS flying off my rotors. I used to tell him that he couldn't begin to possibly understand... because my braking was SOOOO amazingly intense.

!@#$ if you saw my ride at night on the strip you would have thought their was a spa yellow pearl LMP-1 targa-top out their... it was just like a 24 enduro.... my rotors were glowing from the other-worldly punishment that Eddie could not ever know!!! I was like "ok, have you ever seen the movie driven?".

The Porterfield R4S's from eBay and S03's just weren't going to cut it anymore...... I NEEDED that Comptech BBK!!!

Good stuff.
