Oil change poll

Ramps ok if used with care

Those are the exact same ramps that I used. They rely completely on these 2 tinyrubber pads to keep the ramp from sliding around. Once these dry out or wear, the ramps will slide around freely on the garage floor

The design must have changed since mine have not 2 rubber pads, but 4. Also the manufacturer provides free replacement pads for the asking.

ill be doing mine myself..

everybody should know this basic yet valuable maintenance.

From my experience, the NSX is the easiest Honda to change the oil on. Here's the technique I use to avoid getting dirty:

1. Use an oil extractor to remove old oil.

2. Jack the car up slightly and remove the rear passenger's side wheel. You now have access to the oil filter without having to go under the car! (Yeah, other Hondas are so awful in this regard).

3. Use a Honda oil filter wrench adapter to make removing the old filter easy. (Not sure what its actually called, but you can buy it at any Honda dealer.)

4. Use latex gloves while removing the filter to avoid getting used oil on your hands.

5. Store the old oil in a large 5 to 10 gal plastic drum. That way you only have to make a special trip to dispose of old oil once a year or so.

It's easy to do, you you don't really get dirty, and you feel better knowing that the job was done properly.
