There is an interesting thread going on in FerrariChat under "Discussion (not model specific)" re: the NSX ( "NSX vs308"). Check it out. It seems that as the years go by, the number of positive comments about he NSX seem to have increased. I think that the reliability of the NSX is being acknowledged more and more by other exotic car drivers.

Meh, I don't care.

I hope NSX owners don't gauge the value of their cars by what F-car owners think.

Now that the nsx is long dead......it has a soul:wink:

After yesterdays Cars and Coffee event in Dallas yesterday I met up with my friend, who runs the local Ferrari FCA chapter, to watch the Dubai F1 qualifying.
Afterwards we were talking and I asked him if he had ever driven an NSX.
No.
Got time to try one ?
Of course.

We did a simple loop of the neighborhood nothing real high speed and talked about the car. Its reliability, fuel mileage, cost and depreciation, history, etc.
Afterwards I get the feeling he was suitably impressed.

Converting the world.
One drive at a time. ;)

The post our friend Chris wrote (nearly factually correct, but the conclusion was spot-on) referred to our recently aquired LoveFab shop car.
It's funny how trying a NSX with roughly triple the horsepower of our other essentially stock one can transform ones' impression

The first dozen (or so) replys were mostly pro-Ferrari and ho-hum NSX.

I am a member of the site, and was one of the first who commented strongly on the NSX. We own a 2001 NSX (from new), and could not be silent.

Surprisingly there were alot (yes, alot) who followed, speaking well of the NSX.

At this point, probably 75% on this Ferrari thread seem to be rather complimentary.

If you look it up, it has now been moved to GENERAL AUTOMOTIVE DISCUSSIONS

At this point, about 55 comments.

Ferrari makes a wonderful exotic which has its own unique reliability and perfomance issues depending upon the model and year. The NSX does NOT have the cache compared to the name Ferrari. If you want the Ferrari cache and that is important to you then you may want to own a Ferrari. However, if the properties of the NSX are what excite you then you are an NSX owner like me. There is no wrong decision here, it is just a matter of preference and that preference can be born from the rationale I denoted above.

Interesting point but I don't think this is the main reason as it doesn't take 18 years to reveal the difference of quality between the NSX and early F-cars. :)

I guess I will not be reading FerrariChat since it requires registration.
