In the words of Bill Maher from his HBO series, Real Time with Bill Maher:
"NEW RULES" (or at least updated old rules...........)
The response to NSX Fiesta has been unprecedented and that is great to see but now is the time to make things fair to all those who expressed interest while still allowing those who have been on the fence to have ample time to make plans if anyone drops out of the "confirmed list".
The actual RSVP list from North America may contain 55 names because two persons indicated they wanted to go in another thread but did not include their names in this one but I was aware of them since before this was started. If they have committed to already purchasing their tickets, then obviously they are definitely on the list.
We need to be considerate of our European members who appear likely to have a group of 15 coming and due to logistics (including renting buses, booking hotels, etc.) we are trying to cap it at 70 (total) - at least for now.
EDIT: Subject to possible further revisions, it appears that Hirofumi may be able to accept 70 from North America and still be able to accommodate that anticipated European group. However, for now I am still keeping the Main List at 55 members with the understanding that Hirofumi is working on permitting the first 15 on the Waiting List to be including automatically without anyone ahead of them canceling.
Given the language issues, I have volunteered to help Hirofumi coordinate the sign ups on our side of the pond. Being mindful of the fact that many have responded and perhaps even purchased their tickets already, we will be revising The List regularly based upon those who have shown commitment by booking their flights. I have also suggested that Hirofumi consider taking deposits to show that people who have RSVP'd to date are serious about making the trip.
1. After you have booked your flight, please email or fax me a copy of your itinerary. This will move you to the top of the confirmed list and start the clock ticking for those at the bottom to commit or pass to the waiting list persons. My email is RSO34 at NSXCA dot org and fax is Nine One Four Seven Six four Nine One Zero Eight. This will also provide us with confirming information as to what flights are being taken, what times members are departing/arriving and allow us to be able to track our members in case a flight is missed/delayed to the point where you might miss meeting up with the group.
2. A deadline date for the "first round" will be set sooner rather than later after which if you have not booked your flight the person/persons currently on the bottom of the list indicated above (which reflects "rights of first refusal" pending flight booking) will be advised that their spot/s will be offered to the first person on the Waiting List. If both indicate a continuing interest but an inability/unwillingness to purchase their plane tickets at that time, both will be placed on the bottom of the Waiting List and will move up in order again.
3. If for whatever reason you plan to come
JUST TO THE TWO DAYS OF FIESTA and not the optional touring dates in the itinerary, please confirm that asap as well since we may be able to accommodate more members.
4. [
EDIT] Based upon Hirofumi believing he will be able to accommodate 70 from North America, although we are running a "Waiting List" the first 15 look like they will get an automatic invite and if anyone from 1-15 on the Waiting List wants to book a flight now they will be bumped up early without the first 55 "losing" their spot.
Example of List revision:
Let's say Lud emails his itinerary to me confirming has obtained a plane ticket. He would move up the list from Number 32 to no higher than 2 (since I beat everyone to the punch :biggrin
and be guaranteed his spot. Naturally, the closer someone is to the bottom the more "urgent" it becomes to lock in a plane ticket to show commitment and avoid being the first one bumped to the Wait List.
When the "First Elimination Round" date is chosen everyone will be given sufficient notice to commit or pass to the Wait List so that there is no last second scrambling to book flights.
Finally, some of you may have already posted here that you have your plane tickets so no need to worry about being "on the bubble" but for continuity purposes I have not moved anyone else up without receiving their confirmed itinerary just to make sure there is a level playing field.
