NSX "Engine Start Button" -ComptechNSX?

What's the point? You have to turn the key on anyways. This seems like a really dumb idea. Why would you want an extra button cluttering up the dash?

Hey gobble, who are calling dumb?
The button is normally hidden in the ashtray.
It can be thought of as an antitheft device if you wish. You need to have the key and know where the button is to start the car.
The car won't start by simply turning the the key as normal.

This is a typical reponse on this forum. A true nsx lover wants to see my mod, then someone has to make this kind of comment.

thomas,
the accessories menu is, as you may already know, is the setting when your dash lights up but the engine starter isn't turning. a lot less complicated then it sounds.

A kill switch hidden somewhere would do the same thing. This just seems to me like something some high school kid would do to his Honda Civic because he thinks it looks cool. I simply question the point of it.

Well, I for one thinks it looks cool. I think many people who bought the S2000 probably thinks it looks cool as well.

To each his own. comptechnsx, thanks for sharing!

Yes it is "kinda" cool; but do you want to get in, put the key in the ignition, turn it on, now flip up the ash tray and push the button EVERY TIME you want to drive your car. The "kinda cool" will get "kinda old."

That's like saying "putting on your driving gloves everytime you take the car out would get kinda old". What - you mean you guys don't put on driving gloves whenever you drive the NSX?

P.S. Although the above was a joke, I do wear driving gloves everytime I take my NSX out of the driveway (yeah I know - I'm wierd)!

Hey Michigan NSX, I used to drive with gloves too. It gets pretty hot here in Miami. Though I have the NSX garaged now, I can't use that excuse anymore. I stopped the whole glove thing though. But when winter comes around I'll certainly find another pair :D

Gobble, If you don't like whats on tv you change the station right. I personally think the starter idea is great. Wish it came standard on the NSX (along with Semi-automatic shifting like the BMW M3...new topic maybe). I plan no making this a future mod.

Guys,

Just a word of caution.... the nsx is very easy to steal as it is. If you're in a high crime rate area, the ignition button is not a good idea.

Henry.
