Nominations for hottest NSX

Re: Nominations for hotest NSX

After going through all of the pics, there really isn't anything too special about most of our NSX's. We all follow a simple formula- wheels & drop. Maybe this is a testament to the timeless design of the NSX? Anyways, I think the hottest NSX should be custom such as Vroom's or another widebody. Those who have been thinking "outside" of the box. I tend to play it "safe."

I agree everyone follows the same formula, However some of these cars have undergone unreal changes. Some people build cars to follow a dream no matter the cost. That takes BIG coconuts. Like the targa to coupe conversion on a brand new NSX. THAT is dedication to a dream build.

I do not think it has to be a widebody or even undergo massive changes in the body to be something super special. Taking a car that " almost " works and making it EXACTLY what you want is just as special.

Link to what I am talking about is coming soon:biggrin:

Re: Nominations for hotest NSX

Great thread - thanks for the nomination for the GPW white category TURBO2GO!

I have to sit and think about this for some of the colors but here's the ones that pop out in my mind since they are the easier colors:

OTHER: Nsxot1c: (love the lime green look and what you did)

Orange: Synth19 (his is the only NSX I would want to own besides my own)

I will post back up one I give the rest some thought...

Re: Nominations for hotest NSX

I think i need a type r wing to win lol

No, but what you do need to do is to post some full size pictures here and nominate other people instead of sitting back and waiting to see how your car does... LOL

Re: Nominations for hotest NSX

I wasn't feeling the love. Here is the first post from my built thread. I wish my camera skills were better ..

I kind of lost interest in the NSX. No track days and only a few new parts added to the NSX this year.

Chris we need side shots, rear shot, I will need these once it comes to the poll.

Re: Nominations for hotest NSX

He won first place at that car show.:biggrin:

FYI: Winning a car show means NOTHING - it just shows you pleased the judges in THAT PART OF THE COUNTRY! Some cars that would win in certain states would never even be allowed to compete in places like CA. I've found in general that the further west you go, the harder it is to win in most cases.

When I was in college, we attended the Indiana state fair car show and you should have seen some of the cars that are labeled "Show Cars" LOL

Anyways back on topic:

IMOLA ORANGE:

I agree for Synth’s car is an easy winner in the Imola no matter what wheels he has on there – although I vote TE37 for sure as my favorite!

MODIFIED:

Definitely Vroom’s car – next time I’m back in Chicago I would love to see this car in person!
(how can you NOT like this car)

RED:

SILVER:

TURBO2GO and HIJACKER also get my vote but can’t find a picture for some reason….

Lastly thanks to all of you who voted for my car but I think these are some of my better pictures:

Re: Nominations for hotest NSX

Doc I encourage you to post pics and let people vote. Don't be shy. It's better than Bob's car.

Re: Nominations for hotest NSX

As to black, I have to nominate my wife's 97, or no soup for me ! Photos in the signature link below.

That won't help us. If you want it to be considered then post pics please. Guys, please stop making others do the work.

IF YOU WANT TO BE CONSIDERED HERE for a category, please post pictures of the car from all angles.

Your car or whoever else's you pick. I am simply going to compile the pics from every color/type and post a poll. I don't want anyone later saying "why wasn't this considered".

I think I am onto something here and am going to make this an annual thing. For 2011 I need winners. For 2012 I will start a thread where people can post their nominations. This is both fun and interesting, and with one click people who are not familiar with the NSX can see some of the best in the same thread. There are more good looking NSX's on this one thread already than on any other thread on prime.

Funny how some fashions dont fade. I had a set of BBS rims on my 1979 BMW 7 series back when I bought it new. Back then my wife had a similar set on her 1980 VW rabbit convertible. I swear they looked the same as those on the NSX today. And that was 32 years ago !!!
IMO I now find the BBS mesh design to be the oldest and most outdated of them all, but it's a good quality wheel.

Re: Nominations for hotest NSX

Help me out here guys...

I think one requirement for an entry should be that you currently own the car, post a picture here. If you are MIA or don't care, I am not sure your car should be an entry when no one sees it or knows where it is. I certainly prefer to vote for an active prime member's car than some car that used to belong to somebody who sold it to someone else who no one knows about.

Don't you guys agree? I mean Alex's car from GruppeM can be very cool but I've never seen him post here and I am not even sure about the whereabouts of that car. For that same reason I am thinking of taking serialnsxers car out. It's gone now. Should I still keep it in? you guys can give me input to create some rules here that make sense. Should we nominate and let a car win that no one has seen ever except one article in a japanese magazine? when a close second is a prime member who contributes and busted his ass creating? Lots of guys have put a lot of effort into their cars, I just want them to get some just credit!

BD has a very nice black. Vance where are you? please post pics if you see this.

Still only have ONE photo of Angus's car. Come on will, help us out here.

Re: Nominations for hotest NSX

timeless wheels and timeless styling on the 2002+ nsx imo.

of course careful, tasteful and timeless modification choices such as ric's helps as well :)

Agree and disagree in the same sense... I know my car has completely transformed from 95' Midnight Pearl/Tan to current state, including new clutch, trans, motor, interior, suspension, wheels, full paint/body and the list goes on and on. But I definitely agree with your statement concerning some regular bodied cars with minor mods.

I don't want the thread derailed but I just want to address this quickly. To many, the hottest NSX is a stock NSX. To some it's a wild NSX. Who the hottest "should" be, is determined by votes, and not by your idea or mine. I'm pretty certain it lands between bone stock and crazy wild. Car's like Vrooom's, or LS7NSX, or some of the extreme widebody's here have their own category. Look at all the ugly track cars and what a nice job Robfenn has done with both iterations of his car. He should get some credit here.

If you are a category winner, you have a nice car. Look at how stiff the competition already is going to be in white for example. There are more than a few very nice ones. Frankly I can't wait to see how the voting turns out because I have no idea. So if you are big on the "outside the box" ones, then just vote that way!

Re: Nominations for hotest NSX

It's virtually impossible to pic the hottest NSX ever. First of all it's not a contest frozen in time. NSX's get sold to new owners. New owners build even better (sometimes worse) examples, etc. Take mine for example.. i'm no where near where I want it to be yet. I've got a garage full of boxes I haven't even opened yet alone installed.

At the risk of losing some clout this should be a monthly award (like many other forums do). You can pick one winner for the year from the 11 monthly winners. C'mon.. am I the only who reads Playboy? We can have the NSX playmate of the year.

1. Keep it to just one monthly winner.
2. Keep it to just one category of best overall for the month.
3. Have an annual contest say.. at Dec where Jan-Nov winners are voted on by the community.
4. Keep it to forum members only. Otherwise, this will get out of control...

$0.02...

Re: Nominations for hotest NSX

Hey Dave,

How about a catagory for us daily drivers. We are limited to what mods we can put on, custom front lips/spoilers, diffusers and body kits that will get damaged from drivways, R type hoods due to rain and so on. Our cars still look hot, have other mods and get lots of attention but can't compete with the garage queens that can put any mod on.

Not a bad idea at all either.

Maybe even a seperate category for pop-ups as well??

Although I must say I drive mine daily on i95 to and from work for usually 8-9 months out of the year with my Type R hood and other custom work, rain or shine.
