I know a bunch are in Ohio enjoying themselves, but is anyone planning on Bakers tomorrow? If the weather is decent, I think we'll be out there.
Any plans this upcoming week for woodward anyone?

No Bakers for us Ryan 94 degrees out w/ high humidity and no shade not for me. We went to WW last Wed. and yesterday evening and nothing really that good. Some decent muscle heads, 1 F-car 360 and that was about it. Oh yeah this year seems to be the year of the new Camaro. :wink: We may hit up WW one evening this week but not sure.
 
I may be up at Bakers with some family from out of town. Probably without Tweety since I have not any time to clean her up - also decent chance of a pop up shower which Tweety wouldn't be happy about. :eek:
 
What a month! AND, still a week left.... ALMS and Indy Cars at Mid Ohio with SourceNSX and crew(s), a few days on W Basin of Lake Erie, then northern Ontario fly-in fishing camp for walleye fishing where weather was lousy but walleyes were more than willing. Race Five at Waterford Hills this weekend. A couple of thumbs -


A fellow from Lima, OH, area was black bear bow hunting this past week at fish camp near Hornepayne, ONT. He tagged one Thursday afternoon from his tree stand, thought he got a good hit. He did, but the 240 pound bear still ran to the river, swam it, and made it out the far side and up the bank..... where he was found the next morning. Through and through the bear's heart.....broadhead arrow.... some kind of tough.

Summer has finally arrived. :rolleyes: Several days high pressure, low humidity, sunshine, def. a first for summer of 2009 in SE Michigan.
Perhaps you have stories untold. Summer that never was?


Some extra time now has allowed me to wash/dry/clean/detail/the twins.

Added bonus, treated the skins (interior leather surfaces), and let them sit outside to cure for a few hours.


Might glomonto Brian and Judi (SCA037) Saturday, to flag open track day at Waterford Hills SCC, and make Baker's Sunday. BEST Labor Day Weekend to all!
 
Since the entire week is trending toward warm & nice, how about we begin the holiday weekend kickoff with a trip to Ypsilanti's Depot Town on Thursday evening for their weekly car show?
(We should call ahead to confirm that it's 'on', just in case ;^)
Then, like Neal said, we'll be at Waterford Hills on Saturday for the Open Track Day, and will likely cap off the weekend with a visit to Baker's on Sunday :cool:

Sound like a plan?

OK, phase 1 is complete, we lined up at Neal's before heading down to the Ypsilanti Depot Town car show last night.
We were joined by our pal Charlie, who just put a performance exhaust on his GTS Viper (a glorious noise to be sure ;^)

Beeeyoooteeeful day! Flagged all day under SCA037's tutelage at Waterford Hills (MI) Open Track Day. Had turn six at end of straightaway. Plenty of excitement, w/a silver 350Z spinning out/four wheels off three times (same turn!), and a nice (for the first 2/3rds of the day :tongue::tongue:) white 2001 M3 convertible doing a fine 360 after lunch break.
Said M3 was heavily customized at about 420 PM leaving the track on driver's left and entering lowlands, striking a dead tree - both bags deployed and both ends severely damaged. Betw turns four and five.
Most likely a total loss. May add a pic or two of it after I figger out how to black out the owner's vanity lic plate.

Baker's Milford, MI, tomorrow 330-4 PM.
 
sca037 - Your RM Sports exhaust sounds really healthy, but I guess I've followed you before and told you THAT.
That Cobra GT (Replica?) that passed us on Griswold was SWEET. :biggrin:
 
Yes, phase 2 (Saturday) at Waterford Hills went very well, excepting of course for one previously mentioned white M3 :wink:
Volunteers even got some track time at lunch, and that was the first chance we've had to get our S2000 on course at Waterford so was a real treat.
Phase 3 of our weekend playing with cars at Bakers yesterday was cool, the place was quite packed and the sun was often under clouds so it made for an excellent setting :cool:
Oh yeah, that Factory Five Cobra flyby was cool, a very healthy sound indeed bellowing from those sidepipes!

Yes, NSXPO was a fantastic time, MANY thanks to the Canadians who tirelessly took this on and made it a great one!
We turned over 30,000 miles on the way to Toronto, and all-in ran 853 miles for the week!
The activities including the car show, poker run, Medieval Times dinner, indoor karting and of course the track days at Mosport were quite enjoyable.
OK, the weather at the track could have been better, but that is above anyones pay grade to control :biggrin:

The Fourth Captain Wrong Way Peachfuzz Fall Color Tour is scheduled for Sunday; October 18<SUP>th</SUP> 2009; hosted by Jim and Liz Christopher and Leonard Murz. The starting time is 2:00 PM; the starting location is the shopping center located at the northwest corner of M-59 and OLD US-23; <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">10059 Highland Road</st1:address></st1:Street>.

This year’s tour will highlight the eccentric and should be quite entertaining. The tour will meander through the very scenic countryside of <st1:place w:st="on">Livingston</st1:place> and Shiawassee Counties – all roads are paved. The first leg of the tour is 34 miles and will offer an approximate half-hour pit stop at an extremely eclectic and eccentric shop. The second leg of the tour continues for an additional 27 miles; ending at a country restaurant serving very good fare – the cinnamon rolls are well worth the ride!

We anticipate no more than two and one-quarter hours combined seat time and pit stop comprising the total tour. Dinner should begin about 4:30 PM and will be your choice – either menu or country buffet. We will have a private dinning room and preferred parking immediately in front of the restaurant.

The event runs regardless of weather. If you don’t like to drive your P’car in threatening or inclement weather, please consider running the tour in another vehicle – we assure you the camaraderie, countryside and eccentric nature of the tour will be worth the effort.

I assume whatever you guys have in mind includes a fantastic garage :wink:

The RSR-PCA color tour was a great time.
LOTS of cars and nice people, some of whom we hadn't seen in ages.
At one point on the tour, we were the first car in a group and when I looked back I saw a line of Ferraris....so Judi pulled over at a turn and we waved them by.
The resulting engine note symphony was most worthy :cool:
We did have a bit of a problem though, as when we pulled up to the final destination (dinner stop) I then noticed a strange speed-variable clicking sound that Judi heard earlier, and was amazed to discover our RR wheel was failing.
2 large cracks in a couple split-spokes had developed, so after dinner we hitched rides home with friends and retrieved the NSX the following afternoon (about 70 miles away).
We were pretty lucky that it hadn't failed at speed, and we're still at a loss as to what caused them!

Still, it was a good end to a great drive considering the other possible outcomes.

Holy crap. Thats is scary. Glad you guys are ok though and figured it out before it got worse.
I was hoping to come, but just too much going on around the house here. :frown:

Yeah Ryan, we missed you :biggrin:
Upon inspecting the inside of the wheel, there is a 3rd crack.....so 3/10ths of the spokes had failed.
I'm going to run it by Weldcraft for their opinion, and maybe contact SSR to let them know about it for their records.
I still feel lucky we caught it when we did :wink:
