We'll be paying them by the hour so it becomes a cost issue. Not saying that the cost makes it undoable, just that there may be added cost to do that. They require a 4hr minimum so perhaps it's possible.

I'll run it by Laurel and see if that would be possible.

Also, know that Lynn has planned out a route to get to a nice restaurant after lunch so those interested will be able to get some food. We're also planning a short scenic drive after that. So we'd be doing some stuff afterwards (which includes a couple of photo ops) even if we don't do it with a police escort.

We've gotten the pricing for this event and it will be $80 per person at the current headcount. What does your $80 pay for?

- fee for SF Film Commission (required for city-approved photography)
- insurance provided by NSXCA (required by the city)
- SFPD escort from staging area to location
- traffic/crowd control by SFPD
- "donation" to residents of Lombard street
- scissor lift rental (and associated delivery)

So I need to start collecting for this event. I can accept PayPal but *REALLY* prefer cash or checks. If you plan to pay via check, PM me and I'll give you my address to send to. If you plan to pay cash, I'll be at both this and next month's chapter meets. If something comes up that forces me to miss those meets, I'll be sure to have someone collect on my behalf. If your stubborn :biggrin: and HAVE to pay by PayPal, PM me and I'll give you my e-mail address for that.

I need to have payment by the end of April. Don't wait until the last minute for this. Other car clubs have done this before and their feedback is that it is one of the coolest things they've done as a club. It will be a lasting memento of your NSX ownership for years to come, even if you've moved on to something else.

Forgot one last thing: because the insurance is going through the NSXCA policy, all participants are required to be members in good-standing with the club.

Technically, yes there is a limit. But I don't think we'll reach it. What it boils down to is the fact that we have to be out of thee by 11am, so we're limited more by time than anything else.

As for absolute numbers, if we don't get at least 20, I'm going to cancel it. I might have a little bit of latitude with that number, but I think 20 is just about the minimum. I'd hoped for about 40 but so far the list only has 27. If the numbers go over 30, people will start to get some money back, distributed at the event. If less than 20, I'd post here how much more we'd have to pay and leave it up to the participants to decide if it would be worth the extra money.

I'm hoping everyone who added to the list signs up, as I've met my goal of keeping it under $100 each.

Well, it's not like I told those outside of Northern California that they *couldn't* participate. And to be honest, there were takers from SoCal and maybe OR back last fall when I originally started thinking of doing it and posted it in my "photoshoot drive" thread. Since they posted then, I just assumed that they monitored the NorCal forum and would sign up when I started this dedicated thread earlier this year. To be honest, I was surprised when they *didn't* chime in.

I'll post a link elsewhere for this event.

hey just be careful of the hill right before going down that crooked part of lombard... its killer steep and i've seen cars/unexperienced drivers peel out and burn their tires trying to start their cars from stop..... :P

If I can't get enough people - 20 to 25 - then I'll have to cancel it. :frown:

So PM me if you're interested so I can give you my address to send your check to. PayPal is optional but not preferred due to fees. Your checks will not be cashed (and PayPal monies not released) unless/until I get all of the participants required. If there not enough participants to carry the cost of this endeavor, I'll send the checks back and reverse any PayPal payments.

But I don't want to have to do any of that. Please get hoppin' and send me your money ASAP.
