**edit**
to put date time on first post
Date: May 30
Time: 8a-11a
We're meeting up earlier than 8am, however. Please read the thread for details...
Planning has re-started for this shoot and this thread will be where I'll post the date/time, cost, logistics, etc. as that info becomes available.
The plan is to have a photoshoot for NSX owners on famous Lombard Street, touted as "the crookedest street in the world". Estimated date is a weekend day near the end of May or beginning of June. We'll line up 20-25 cars at a time and then take pictures. We'll roll 3 or 4 cars out from the front of the line, move down, and fill in the back for another picture (this was determined as the best method because the cars in the back will not show up well and I'm sure everyone will want to be front/center for their photo).
Participating in this shoot will cost us and we'll spread that cost out over all of the participants. Here are the things that the money will go towards:
1) Police for crowd/traffic control - this will keep all other cars and people out of our pictures (each officer gets 92/hr, 4hr min., and we'll probably need 3 or 4 officers).
2) Fee paid to the S.F. Film Commission - this is the commission that grants permission to shoot in the city ($100).
3) Insurance - this is required by the city; the NSXCA carries insurance for events so this cost will likely be subsidized just a bit (this may be as little as 400 or as much as over $1000, depending on whether I can get some of the city's insurance requirements waived, which I'm already working on).
4) "Donation" to the Lombard Hill Improvement Association - this fee goes to the residents on is negotiable and I'll do my best to minimize the amount
5) Rental of a scissor lift - this will get the photographer up into the air, as taking the picture from the bottom of the hill would diminish the impact of having all of those cars on the street at the same time (cost unknown but probably a few hundred).
6) Professional photographer - I'd actually like to see if we can get this done for free by a member who is willing to get about 25 feet into the air on a scissor lift.
With 40 or 50 cars, I should be able to keep the per car price at under $100 or so but that is just an estimate. If you are not an NSXCA member, you may be required to join to take advantage of the insurance they'll provide so you should consider joining now to be sure to be included.
There may be some things that I've overlooked so if you have any questions, please post them here and I'll do my best to answer them.
