JGTC Event at Cal. Speedway NSXCA Christmas Party? Dec 18-19

I've just checked the JGTC website & now they've combined the D1 event with this. Are the tickets we currently have good for that?

D1 Grand Prix Joins GT LIVE

As many of you are aware, GT LIVE and the D1 Grand Prix US vs. Japan events were both scheduled for December 19th at separate venues in Southern California. This created the unfortunate situation for JDM, drifting and motorsports fans who were torn between these two awesome events. We're happy to announce that the D1GP has joined JGTC to make GT LIVE the mother of all tuner and motor sports events.

The weekend before Christmas you'll see your favorite JGTC cars battle it out under the lights on Saturday evening in the first US appearance of JGTC and the first ever JGTC night race. Then on Sunday afternoon, watch the best of Japan's professional D1GP drifters tear it up against the best of the rising U.S. drifting stars in the D1 GRAND PRIX US vs. JAPAN drifting exhibition. You'd have to be crazy to miss this!

All GT LIVE tickets are sold through JGTCUSA.net or 1-866-500-JGTC.

but I have to use my vacation to take the racing course at Bondurant.
I'd take driving over watching any day! At least you are missing the event for a good reason. Enjoy

I'm assusming the D1 event was moved from Irwindale to California Speedway, correct? Will they be drifting on the roadcourse? If so, that would be much better than the lame Irwindale layout/course.

Will there even be daytime JGTC racing, Saturday or Sunday?

Saturday Fan Lap Question

Hello Everyone

I just spoke to the JGTC event organizers and they told me they are sending me the tickets for the event on Wednesday. I will turn them around and have them out to you by no later than next Monday. All the people who are outside of California and Arizona will have their tickets sent Express Mail. Everyone else i will send First class mail.

Now to the purpose of this e-mail.

During my conversation with JGTC they asked me to ask all the people who will be attending the event on Saturday if they want to drive their car in the "Fan Lap" which is scheduled for 3:00 to 4:30 pm? Here is the discription of the fan lap

"Car Club Fan Lap (Saturday)
Ever wonder what it is like to drive around California Speedway in your car? If you signed up with a car club you can find out by participating in our Fan Lap. You and a few hundred of your best friends will do a lap around the Auto Competition Course, the same configuration used by the JGTC race. Speeds will be limited so this is more an hour-long party on wheels."

The issue is twofold, first, they currently have about 750 cars that are signed up for the Car Club pass. They have determined that they can only have 250 cars participate in the fan lap in the allotted time  If they have more than 250 people who want to do it they may just cancel the "Fan Lap"!  :frown:

The second issue is that they plan to have all the people who will participate in the "Fan Lap" park in the infield of the track and not outside the stadium  Cool? yes! BUT, anyone who does not want to be part of the "Fan Lap" will be parking outside the stadium in a seperate club area! :frown:

I personaly think this is pretty messed up! The best solution I have is that each of you who are planning to be there on Saturday should tell me you want to participate in the "Fan Lap"! that way we will all be parking together! I think this is the most important part of this event, for us to be together!

So please e-mail me with your interest in the "Fan Lap"/ Parking together.

I think a better solution would be to have the 250 made up of the largest car club participants (we ARE the largest). JMO

Please let me know ASAP
Thanks

Re: Saturday Fan Lap Question

That's just messed up! They should just let the biggest club represent in full, and get a couple of representatives from each of the other clubs to fill in the rest of the 150 spots. :D

Seriously though, I would like for us to be parked together and the "fan lap" was something I was looking forward to (especially because I've never been to a track before....sshhhhhhhh! ).

100 NSXs will be a sight to see, but not as impressive if we're broken up. :D

Of course I want to participate in the fan lap. I can't believe that they want to try to split us up as a group. Shouldn't the fact that we are the largest car club there count for something. Oh well, we will just have to tell them that we all want to participate in the fan lap.

I don't want to drive the fan lap...

...in my rental car. But I sure would if I had my NSX at the event!

Need help with JGTC club ticket! Found out about it too late, past the Nov. 30 deadline. If anyone who brought the ticket but can't make it, please let me know!! I'm from bay area, need to make plans asap! [email protected]!

I was trying to get a NSXPO rate at a Marriott near the event but without a room count I was unable to lock a reduced rate.
That's funny; I just booked a room on Priceline, requesting a 3-star hotel in the Ontario area for $47/night, and they gave me a reservation at the Marriott at Ontario Airport!

WOW!
That's an awesome deal.
I don't have a price that low and
I'm there with a "Family & Friends" Discount.

I'm hoping to be in the parade lap...but am I clear in understanding we can't all park together if we choose the lap? Or are you saying that all of us should say we want to be in the parade lap, so we can all park together in the infield?

Lap please, that's one of the things we were offered as part of club participation.

100 NSXs Strong - that's what I'm talk'n about !!! X 100 =
