Well, I hate to break the news to you, but... I traded in my NSX today.
I must say, it's been a great ride. My NSX has been everything I could ever have wanted it to be. But I was ready for something... different. After all, it's been over twelve years since I bought it.
I decided that I really loved the sharp handling of the NSX, so I just had to get something that had that same feel when driving... but I also wanted something that would go just a little faster, and would impress people just a little bit more. Something that would really wow people, that they would understand what it was, instead of asking what it was. So I replaced my NSX with one of these:
I had always wanted a Ferrari (hasn't everyone?) and I finally got my wish.
So far, there are a lot of things I like about it:
- it turns heads because it's REALLY LOUD
- everyone does a double-take, WAY more than with my NSX
- it grips the road like my NSX
- it smells like REAL LEATHER on the inside
There are a few things I'm not so crazy about:
- all my neighbors know exactly what time I get home each night
- I depleted all my savings to buy it
- the Ferrari folks seem, well, just a little bit too full of themselves (in contrast, the NSX people seem like real, down-to-earth people)
- I asked about a couple of little, unexpected things and already I'm hearing the old "they all do that" line from the folks at the dealer service department.
So far, though, so good.
Oh, and in case you're wondering, of course my 360 Modena is red. Aren't they all?
I'll still hang around here for a little while, since I'm still happy to share my NSXpertise. And I'll still help the NSX Club for a while too.
Thanks to all of you for all the good times with the NSX. It's been a great time here at NSXprime, and with all the nice folks I've had the chance to meet at all six NSXPOs and all the various NSX Club of America events I've been to. There's no nicer community than the NSX community.
