    Caveat Emptor!

Introduce New NA1 Non-Pop up headlight conversion like NA2

almost perfect, smaller hump, make then either paintable or in oem silver.

come to think of it thats quite a bit of $ for those, im not saying theyre bad but unless you significantly improve quality/looks i dont see why somebody who wants fixed headlights wouldnt just get 1400 dollar gt one headlights, a 800 dollar or less carbon hood, and a 02+fit bumper, good luck with those though, the market needs something like that

Why don't you just produce a similar but cheaper version of the 2002 headlights that will fit the 2002 OEM bumper??
I'm sure there will be a lot of interest if you produce them.

Any updates on these??
Whats the cost gonna be?

Actually thats a great idea! if you could make it so that it will fit with the 02 bumper, that would be the best option! I would definetely buy one then!! please do this before I buy my 02 conversion kit!!!!

I'm with everybody, the hump is outrageous! If you could acheive a hump that is even less than the 02+ style, that would be marvelous. Shave some off as much of the black plastic/fiberglass? as you can for it to still work and than have the glass/plexi hug the housing as much as possible. Many people, including myself would line up ready to dish out the cash. I think that it must be flush as possible to look good from the side angle, since that's one of the best angles of the NSX. Great job none-the-less! It looks awesome from the front.

I was planning to do something like this in the future. I have access of CNCs and I am decent with 3D software. I was going to do one out of CNCed foam, then aluminum and molded lexan and then possibly other materials after I resolved the shape and fitmet. I just have to get the funds right and get a spare OEM headlight to have some dimension and hardware figured out.

I really believe that an almost flush headlight can be made, but it may also need a modded or new hood since the stock NA1 hood line is very squar-esh and limiting around the headlights.

*edit*
I also think that it would look tons better if you just removed the glass/plexi from the unit. This would allow us to paint it or treat the surface however we want and it will reduce the hump a lot! Of course you would then have to take measure to properly seal the areas that could leak water.

It's a shame the vendor has gone missing. I wonder if he'll return, cause I may be interested in just purchasing a set with only the housing for a lower price?; minus the halos, and plexi/glass. Only the plastic housing and any required hardware is what I want. I believe it may be easier for me to modify the housing than create my own from scratch. Just Recess the lens/bulb area towards the rear and shave off some of the hump, so that the profile is more flush. Then heat form a new acrylic covering that is a lot tighter and seal it. Easier said than done, but it's worth a shot if the housing price was right. Hopefully he'll pop back up ready to do some business.

Scorp, I actually thought about using those a while back, but I think that these NA2 style conversions are more promising and the hiflex are just too bland and they don't have enough geometry. It would be better just to start from scratch than use these IMO.

Anyways, before I saw this, I was planning to either buy a set of used ones or just disassemble my own to get the bolton/hardware requirements/layout and overall dimensions. I'll probably have some renderings of different concept styles soon before I actually get physcial with it. We'll see after I graduate in May, cause right now I am in crunch mode for the next 2 weeks or so.

sorry, for a long delay on the headlight. I have an update today. I will receiving the first sample next week. I am looking for a car to do final test fit. If anyone interest please let me know. I also need to test our carbon fiber hood too.

Thank you.

Where are you located? I may be interested...how long will you need the car for? will the person whos car you're test fitting get a discount or some sort of perk for helping out? :)

We are located in Irwindale, California. Yes, We do give sponsor discount for the test fitting headlight and hood.

If you have any question please let me know.

Thanks

We got the first sample already. It just send to one of the sponsor customer to test fit. There is some problem on the bottom of the housing. It is hitting the frame of the car. So he will do some modify on it. As soon as I have update. I will post it. Sorry about the delay.

We don't want to make something that is cheap looking. NSX is a classic car, we know all owns would like to make their car as clean as possible.

Any pics?

wilgtr,

You seems to have the means..... you think you can come up with some LED taillights? This community is in need of some 'affordable' led taillights.

Henry.

Hi

Yes we do want LED taillights. I have the old cracked up set and a "new" set. They are both waiting for some LED's to show up.

I bought a third to put on my NSX as I wait.

The cracked ones is good for testfitting and I do not need them back.

I posted to be subscribed to this thread if any LED project comes along.

Regards

id like to see the final pic of the headlights bc im planing on doing alot of outside work to my NSX, and if anyone has any ideas on wat would look good on a 91 red, black top nsx, plz let me know....thanks

I would love to see a current picture...even if it's still in pre-production mode. I like to start planning things in advance.
