gents....
after selling my 93, i missed it sooOooo much. trying to replace her is like a picking a needle out of a hay stack. after making serious attemps to purchase......to the point of calling and emailing the seller twenty billion times regarding transferring funds, i got a BS answer "i sold my car". Shittttt!!! if you are going to sell it to someone else, what is the freaking point of telling me "we got a deal"? and i got another that just don't return my emails, or phone messages regarding shipping the car....heck!! but yet, played me about the deal is still on...shitttt!! shove that deal up your ass...my time is better spent doing something else. what is wrong with our community? i thought we have better class than that. i've met many good people that have the utmost courtesy. i never thought i would write negative things about our members here....for those two clowns i've mentioned above, you know who you are--i am very much entertained from your BS. so good day to you!!!!

anywhooo, I am very much to the point of giving up my search now. anyone got something nice to say about my experiences? and sorry for the vent, i feel a little better now!!!

Nah, I used to go to the meeting with my 240SX while I was shopping around for the NSX. I just didn't park it near everybody else's. :D

If you really love the NSX, which we know you do, then a couple of deals that did not go through should not deter you.
Exactly. There are always more NSXs out there. So maybe you won't get the precise deal you were expecting - but I'm sure you can find plenty more that fit your own search criteria, as long as you are willing to pay a fair market price for one.

Calvin~

Relaxxxxx - take a couple of deep breaths.

Think of your new ride.

Relax - breath - relax - visualize.

Now get real - some people just  suck!! Everything happens for a reason. Those two cars were not for you.

Your car will come, give it time - IT WILL COME!! :D :D :D

New Ride

Calvin, Have you talked to Paul about his "97 he has for sale? Very clean! Good luck.

Calvin-

What are you looking for maybe we can help?

scott,
that is a nice blue suburu you are driving...hahahhaa :D

anywho, as some of you already new out there my plan was to sell my 93 and get into the lease program. during this time, my plan changed a bit...i recieved a letter saying i am good for law school :D AFTER i made a commitment to sell my car to a nice elementary teacher, i couldn't turn around and take my word back. BTW, he painted the roof and in love with it--he loves it almost as much as i did. welll, back....so what this mean is that i have to think about my school education annual expenses and yes the baby that i just got tooo :) what a dolll.

the only way have it all...the baby...the schoool....and the nsx is to get into a preown one. here is the twist, i need to try a targa versus a coupe which i had already owned. so i am tryingggg to stretch every dollar for the car so i can have a few dollars to make it a mini monster. i've found a couple....95 and 96 in the low 30's....but the deal went sour--no it wasn't salvage. :D

sooOOooo, here we areeee!!!!

damn, i feel much better after expressing and venting my feelings on prime.....maybe we should get a "daily drama" category in here. :D

Calvin, I'll keep my eyes open for you, maybe something will show. Gil

I confess, I'm the "nice elementary teacher" who took Calvin's red baby away!!! She's even redder now, thanks to a red roof, red calipers, red fuel injector covers and red strut bar, among other cosmetic mods! I need to stop before I go broke. One of these days I'll have to post some pics. Don't mean to rub it in...hehe, thanks again for the car Calvin! Maybe I'm not so "nice" afterall, causing you such a headache!! haha And yes, I do love her as much as you did! Hang in there buddy, don't give up!

Get over it.
You are not the only one to get crapped on by an NSX 'seller'. I flew out to Chicago and was told the night before I would fly out that the prick would not have the car available for a pre-purchase inspection we had agreed on thus nixxing the sale.
I flew out to see a NSX in Beverly Hills and the morning Mark B would do an inspection on the car the asshole lawyer claims his father in law took the car and was incommunicado.
I went out to San Antonio to look at one and discovered that the car had been repainted and the owner claimed that he did not know about this. I drove out to Beaumont to look at one and discovered it was far less than as described. And I nearly flew out to Dallas before being headed off by Eric R who gave me the news saving me more frustration. Finally a year after beginning the search in earnest I found my car and was happy I did. It is not worth settling for the car you want. Be patient and it will show up... eventually.

 whoaaaaaa.....here i am thinking it only happens to me. thank you doc. now i feel so much better.

Basic rule: Don't fly anywhere until you are ready to drive the car home.

You can buy cars at a distance by having a local dealer and/or a knowledgeable local NSX owner do a pre-purchase inspection. Any reasonable seller would be happy to accommodate this. In fact, you can even commit to the deal beforehand, noting that the commitment is contingent on a positive inspection report.

You can then draw up a simple contract for the sale and both of you can sign it (faxes do nicely).

All of this can take place before you actually go out there to present the check and pick up the car.

Wow... and I was pissed after traveling and losing a grand a couple years back to a scamer in Boca Raton, FL who refused to give me my deposit back after his car was not what he had said.

More importantly, the fact he couldn't produce the title and it was in his "girl friend's" name, had magazine cut outs of "get rich" info-mercials taped to his wall (the house was a mess and for sale) and supposedly had a jet ski business that turned out to be 4 broken jet skis in a warehouse.... oh, and he sold teddy bears by mail... total nightmare... basically, he was the get rich scamer from hell...

Cops chased him down and tried to get him to act responsibly, that failed and he refused to give them his ss #, setting off all kinds of warning bells. He kept promisng to pay me back, but of course, didn't. I didn't bother with a civil suit, just hope he is locked up somewhere as "Buba's bitch"...

My first NSX was a picnic to buy, learned fast that I got lucky, wised up quickly after that...

Having just gone thru selling my baby, I have a few observations.

1) I looked for 9 months before I bought mine. It takes time. Cars are rarely as advertised, especially outside this forum.

2) Buyers are usually MUCH WORSE than sellers when it comes to dinkin around. I listed my car with a firm price. I had several people call, say they were interested. I sent them a million pictures, talked to them on the phone for HOURS only to have them offer me $5k less than asking (FIRM) price!! Then they say, well I have cash, thought you wanted to sell. This was not one person, but several. Others say "I am sending you a deposit tomorrow" and then never hear back.

Bottom line: Buying OR Selling a used car (especially an exotic) is a experience that takes lots of patience.
