How much for an Oil Change?

Acura West $96.+tax. Twins Autoworks. 621 Danforth Rd. $105.Total.

Sweet momma the prices have sky rocketted at Acura West since my first NSX oil change 7 years ago. Then it was $35 - same as other Acuras, last 2 years of ownership - $60.00. $96?!?! There's no way they take an hour to do it. Robbery.

Acura of Oakville charges .3 of an hour labour for most Acuras or Hondas. NSX's are .5 of an hour. A little more since an NSX is lower and reqiures more work to put on the hoist. We also will look around the car to see if everything is okay and the usual tire pressures, levels, brakes, lights etc.. We can do it while you wait or give you a drive to the GO station, to work or home if local. 905 825 8777 ask for service.

Wow this is an old thread!

I remember my first NSX oil change I did in Cali and they charged me $20 labor as it was their standard oil change fee which included filter, washer and displosal fee. I supplied the oil.

Now I do it myself but as Stu said, I send my oil for lab analysis every time I change my oil just so I know what is going on and the results always indicate less than 40% wear and lots of additives left.

I've pushed my daily driver to almost 10k and the Mobil 1 showed 85% wear and the additives were significantly depleted. Probably left it too long, but changing my daily driver at 6k showed the same results as the NSX so the sweet spot is probably around 8k.

Go to Costco and get the Castol Synthetic for $35 for 6 litres. Castrol has 30-40% more additives than the comparable Mobil 1 so it will likely last longer. Then again, if you do your own oil changes and would rather change it more often since it only hurts your pocketbook, save the Castrol for your daily driver and get Mobil1 at CT on sale for the NSX...

Lab analysis costs me $25 a pop so that is about $60 total with filter when I do it myself.

I just purchased an oem short oil filter with washer for roughly $22-23 at Acura (9.25% CA Sales Tax!) then went to Walmart for 1 (5qt bottle) = $28-29 and 1 (1qt bottle) = $6-7

so roughty $58-59 just for parts and labor will be free since I'll do it myself.

The Castrol Synthetic oil is similar in composition to Redline Synthetic.

Yes, I used up samples just to get a baseline for Mobil 1, Castrol and Redline... i.e. that was $75 just to do brand new oil testing for baseline... or how would really know how depleted the additives were or what the wear indicators really mean since it's not like it comes back saying "you had 20% life left".
