help recall clearance letter needed

I am canadian who recently bought a used honda in the US. I called today for a recall letter from HONDA USA and was refused. Why they would ruin customer relations in such a petty way is beyond belief. I have found the Ownerlink site and will try to use the printouts as recall evidence with RIV. I appreciate the previous posts. I too was pretty upset. If everything goes well, I will post again. I should post again regardless of the result if somebody else can be helped.

Its interesting all these "one posters" who are bringing in Hondas and posting in our Forum - without searching or reading the previous posts. What are we, the honda reference library for the illeterates?

We shouldn't respond to these folks until they read the thread and ask a question that isn't answered in it - Blah!

That is a bit harsh IMO. YES, they should search, but the guy bought a US and is now being told he cant bring it across without the letter, which he is being told he cant get.

That is distressing; no doubt search wasnt foremost on his mind.
It also appears he posted AFTER he found what he needed, and his post was basically saying that he appreciates the post.

For future reference, the answers to most questions can be found by searching: Captain Cool, S.U.P.A. F.A.S.T and Super slow!

Yeah, OK so I was a little harsh - but the thread explains it all - plus the three other threads in this forum - Its a well discussed topic.

My issue is that they (the three one posters) found something on google, came, joined the form, just to post one question that they could have read the answer to three posts up:rolleyes:

I dunno, I'm with respect to importation, I'm starting to feel like a cross between a Customs Broker and a Librarian.

Could someone who gives a shirt write a quick FAQ on importation that we can post ???

Guess that's why Brokers and Freight Forwarders are in business! Love it when all the DIY find that they need help after the fact..........
