Its a car used for enjoyment, congrats uve been on the board for 3 years. Its not my first nsx either. While you guys sit here and lurk on the boards about what's right and wrong to be done with the car I'm out driving mine and enjoying it.

but does the hella flush look compromise the performance and functionality of the suspension and wheel set up?

I can whole heartedly say that my setup indeed degrades performance, but not functionality. I daily drive my NSX (157k miles can attain to that) and it's definitely driven everywhere. In my case, if anyone brings up the argument of having a performance oriented vehicle with wheels that "fit correctly", I just throw up a picture of my S2000 and call it a day.
I don't get it...People come onto the "Hella Flush" thread to come bitch about wheel fitment/lack of functionalityty/loss of vehicle value/ untrackability? Do as you please with ur ride and stop menopausing over this thread.

You can tell yourself that all you want, and sure you could likely get the car around a track, but it would hardly be fast or handle well. In short, no it's not.

Well after I saw omega1's ccw's lm20s I went ahead and pulled the trigger on some ccw classics got them last month. The sizes are 18x10 13 offset for the front and the rears are 18x12 9 offset and its on a stock body so go ahead and start hating on me!

I spoke to dan at ccw and he did his best to give me the most lip and I based it off your measurments. I tried to go a lil bigger when u said u had more room to play with in the front I just bumped it up a lil.
Can't wait to see....I can't imagine running the 12's in the rear. With my 11.5's, I had to grind my coilover collar to clear the rim. Can't imagine more poke...LOL!!

I saw a "hellaflush" S2k at my last track event at Spring Mountain and it was loud, slow, and annoying especially because he wouldn't let anyone pass his slow ass. He was rubbing sidewall all over the place i'm surprised he didn't pop a tire and put the rest of us in harm's way.
Not hating on the hella flush movement.. to each their own.. but c'mon... that is not a competitive track vehicle.

Hey man, you're entitled to your view point. Non of my wheels rub, rear has been fully pulled, custom wide front fenders. The only thing that would rub would be my front side splitter to the pavement. "Pop a tire.." Lol..good one buddy. Never had stretched tires huh? I love all these ignorant comments.

Well you'd be hard pressed to find many of the older guys here hellaflushing their cars. They keep their cars stock, or if they mod them they are usually mild or for the track.
Affordability means a younger crowd can afford the car, and their sense of style is very different. Having seen a lot of other less expensive cars modified in certain ways, they do the same thing to the NSX.
So the wheel selection, where the wheel's lip is wider than the tire, stance, hellaflush and all this other stuff, has a direct link to affordability. If you really don't see it, I can assure you many here do. They may not say it, but they do.
So what is going on in this thread? Well, everyone's image is tied into their cars to a certain extent. That is why many guys don't want to drive a "girly" car for example, or why many SUV's are sold over minivans. Image. No one is really free from this fully, but some are in it more than others.
So the guy hellaflushes his car, compromising the performance a bit, for style. Style matters because it reflects on the owner (so we all think, although it has no true reality). He does it looking for more praise, but then sometimes guy B comes along and says that looks "dumb" (which is the crowd I am in). Now guy A is really going to get defensive and criticize back, because he didn't do it for criticism, he did it for praise.
Now guy B, the criticizer (the category I would be in), is no better than guy A (the hellaflusher). Guy B is upset, because guy A with all his stupid modifications is ruining the overall image of the car. And therefore, to some extent, him.
If 99% of all NSX's were driven by a group that you didn't want to be associated with you probably wouldn't want to drive it. If you don't believe me, just ask most guys to drive around a pink dodge caravan and see how they feel about it. The funny thing about egos is that they don't like other egos. LOL... very funny human behavior.
You guys go on hellaflushing, and enjoy. The NSX is rare enough to where the image of mine (and therefor me) shouldn't be too damaged. So I don't have to get all upset for nothing. My ego can stay un-bruised and I can continue driving around and feeling cool.
Now lets see who I have offended the most by my post.... LOL
