Aloha to the island NSXers - do you put the state inspection sticker on the rear bumper of your NSX, like all the other cars?

What do other exoticar owners do?

Mahalo.

Here in California, the only inspection we are forced to endure is the SMOG inspection. If the car is new, the first inspection is on the 4th anniversary, the every two years thereafter. It is the only way the car can be registered. The only sticker received is the registration sticker on the rear licenses plate.

Hey Andy-

When I used to live in Hawaii, we put the inspection stickers on a metal bracket that hung from under the bumper. Lots of people who actually care about their cars do this and nobody (including the cops out there seem to mind).

Basically, they have an outdated law out there - it says that the stickers must be put on the bumper, and of course it was enacted back when everyone had chrome bumpers. The bumpers of most all modern cars (the NSX included) are hidden under painted bumper covers, so perhaps it can be said that 99% of the population out there is technically in violation....!

Andy,

You can make a small plate to attach to the license plate so you can put the stickers on instead of having to put it on the bumper

Chris probably would have posted this sooner or later, but a picture is worth a thousand words, as they say. :) Note the stickers are on a small metal bracket that I'm assuming is attached the bumpers in a way that won't damage them.

Aloha Andy,

Sorry for coming in so late on this. I'm usually just on the main board. I have a plate that I attached to the bumper bracket that supports the middle of the lower bumper. I didn't want to stick the inspection sticker directly on the bumper.
