going fast

My girlfriend hates filming, but she is getting much better w/ her Kodak Funsaver camera work. Still saving for a HD-camera.

A couple of idiots endangering other motorist lives in order to get their jollies. Sign up for a track day, and keep us all safer.
Crappy quality video too.

what's that? never been over 65mph on a cbr? never had an adult beverage and got in your car? people who live in glass houses...

I think you will find that many people on this site have strong feelings about street racing, as I do. It is stupid, and justifying it as you did is juvenile. Keep it on the track where it belongs.

Yeah, I've gone 70 or 80 on the CBR... on the highway when all of the other traffic was going 70 or 80.
And no, I don't drink and drive.
If someone would have pulled out from a side street, or changed lanes in front of you at the last minute, everyone would be in a pile of twisted metal. You know how unpredictable the average (or worse) driver is. Just stay safe out there.

hmm

The music and the (not very steady hand from the) camerguy kinda ruin the movie...

And it doen't really look like Amsterdam to me...

it was filmed w/ a funsaver camera. i do not post high quality videos. sorry about the quality.
this was not a race, but two guys driving fast on a stretch of limited access road that they drive every day. both drivers know what their cars could do and kept a safe distance from each other. both cars cut their speed in half when approaching another car. the limited access and median HOPEFULLY prevent other drivers from pulling out. since you can see a half mile ahead on the road both drivers felt safe that they were not endangering the innocent.
I do not endorse illegal street racing. racing is a good way to kill or be killed.
i bought my nsx for spirited (not reckless) driving. of the 100 or so nsx/exotic car drivers that i have driven w/ i do not know one that has not broken the law by speeding (i'm not talking about going 70 when traffic is going that speed).
that said IT IS NEVER OK TO BREAK THE LAW!!! stay safe everyone...

last time i post low budget video on nsxprime. ya'll can't handle the raw, in yo face footage!:frown: i will report back when i have an hd-camera.
and it will all be closed course video for those with small children viewing...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

You ready for this?
Come on, man. Guns, murderers and crooked cops? I was made for this, bro.

man this thread kind of turned on you.

lol - i was starting to think i accidently posted this thread on BUICK REGAL PRIME.
the sad thing is most people i know were upset by the fact that it was recorded with a funsaver camera rather than upset about the high speed driving. unbelievable:confused: - i will work with Spielberg next time i take a video...

If you could drive fast do it. what is the point of having a NSX and going 80mph and just because every one else is doing it. So if every one on the road hits 150mph then we are good I guess.

the limited access and median HOPEFULLY prevent other drivers from pulling out.

Limited access!?! I counted no fewer than six intersections, and I wasn't even trying! And do you really think a grass median will protect other unsuspecting (read: innocent) drivers from a spinning 120 mph missile?

It's a little hypocritical to tell others to "stay safe everyone..." when you can't do it yourself.

hypocritical is buying an NSX and saying you don't speed. i've been involved in two accidents both where the driver was on a cell phone and did not look when changing lanes and i was directly next to them.
in the video you will notice both drivers hit max speed on a solid stretch that had one entrance for a construction site that you could easily see from 1/4 mile away if there was another vehicle coming to intersection. all of the access on the right of road was bare construction/ parking areas with no cars or traffic. only the stoplight was of concern and there was clearly no one coming to the intersection. both cars slowd down to speed limit when near areas that there could possibly be an issue with a car coming on to the road.
Limitations
Safe operating speeds can exceed the design speed. Example reasons include:

A design speed is not a representative speed of an entire roadway. Rather, the road's design speed is limited by its most restrictive feature, such as a curve, bottleneck, or hill.
Actual roadway design may exceed the design specifications.
Current parameters for determining the design speed assumes the capacity of outdated automotive technology.
The stated design speed for a given road is usually not changed. Therefore, the design speed on older roads, which were calculated with older methodologies, may not factor in improved automotive technology which can maintain designed safety at higher travel speeds.
In commonly accepted engineering practice, design speed is considered a "first guess" at an appropriate speed limit.

a minvan going 120 = wreck nsx going 120 = fun
it is all ablut the car and driver (knowing what you car and tires can safely handle)
the stated purpose of track day (driving school) is to learn what your car can handle on the real road. hopefully this will make you a better driver.
i would hate to see some of you live in Dubai where the limit is 100mph. you couldn't handle it..

 Keep diggin, you’ll find an excuse in there somewhere!

this doesnt mean that you are going to set a new limit to what you can handle on the real road, it only means you have a better understanding of how your car handles. quit making excuses, this isnt honda tech.

Hmm, I'm not going to trash this guy for speeding. I've seen far too many on this board play the role of saint. I know I've sped in my NSX, my S2000, and my CBR before. Granted it was usually late at night with no one around but that isn't totally safe either. Racing on a track is safer, but not entirely safe itself. There is a good deal of hypocrisy from some prime members I've noticed; while others seem to only chime up in posts in order to chastise and admonish. I believe the proper term is 'FLAME'. Everyone has sped in one time or another.

Fourringer, for future reference, you know you were in the wrong for driving that fast on a public road, so............Don't try to defend yourself next time, that's when the righteous vultures jump in to pick at your flesh:biggrin:

I must 'chastise' you for one thing though. I read the comments below your vid. One poser complimented your car and asked how much it costs. Your reply was "more than you can afford pal...NSX". Sorry bro, but that was foul on your part. I've owned my NSX for seven years. Purchased her in '00 when I was 23. An early model NSX is in the $30k, and a very late model in the $75ks. Why assume that another person can't afford one?

I like to ruffle the feathers of the buzzards by playing devil's advocate.
The poser you refer to is my gf. In Fast and Furious a supra driver pulls next to a ferrari and asks:
"What's the retail on one of those?"
"More than you can affrod pal - Ferrari"
It was terrible acting and dialogue, but we thought it was funny as hell!!!
