Dealer's having problems getting GTR's

Vance mentions EVERY dealer will get one. I'm guessing you mean every dealer will have the OPTION to get one?

The local dealer I went to here said that they decided not to order one. Why? From what they told me, the only person there who would be authorized by the dealership owner would be the GM. Which means none of the sales guys would get a cut of the commission. That's at THEIR dealership in particular. Also, the audience that would come in to drool of the car would not increase the sales of their regular stock. So to draw in a crowd would only increase work for them, not sales.

And finally, this one I didn't hear clearly...... the dealership did not want to pay the $40,000 in fees/taxes to get the car?????? What are they talking about???

They have to have a lift and something else, My friend who works at Nissian told me this.

Before you buy one look into the maintance costs, Tran's oil change is $1,000 brake pads and rotors are over $5,000 cost without labor and they have to be replaced at the same time.

Front Rotors = $2,296.52 ($1,148.26 per rotor)
Rear Rotors = $$1,705.96 ($852.98 per rotor)
Front Pads = $708.71 set
Rear Pads = $577.30 set

Total = $5,288.49 (Tax, Labor, SHOP Supplies.....NOT INCLUDED)
I know a place where to get slightly used R35 pads and rotors for cheap ;)

We can't just assume someone with a 500whp will "smoke" a GTR. I'd like to see an actual GTR face a boosted NSX on the track to get some REAL results and times.
I've driven multiple of both 'competitors' you have listed. I also know the answer ;)

-track times will start showing up soon.

The GTR is a magical car that can only be worked on by titanium tools.

New slogan:
"You can't drive? You buy Jee-Tee-AaaaaR!!!"

Why did Honda keep on making the NSX for all those years even though it didn't sale after 1996? Halo car is a marketing tool, which means it will drive people to the dealership, and offer the dealership more opportunity to sale more cars. I know it's hard to comprehend but it's a standard marketing strategy. The GM of that Nissan dealer should get fired for declining the GTR. Do you rather have a retail shop in a dead shopping center or in a huge mall with lots of traffic? Traffic drives in business!!!

Also, as a new model, some dealership are getting $30 grand over sticker on the car, plus the $10 grand profit, that is $40 grand. Hypothetically speaking, if the tooling and training cost the dealership $40 grand, which is a absurd number, it will open up the door for much more profit for the future allocation, which for the next year or two, allow them to make huge profit on the car. If you have a tiny dealership with only 20 cars on the lot, wouldn't you think a GTR deal will make or break a dealership's profit of the year instead of hoping people will buy a Frontier at $500 over invoice? If you own a tiny dealership in Montana, you can still sale the GTR through the Internet for huge dollars. Duhhhhh.....

The dealership with high number sales (LA, NY, FL) will automatically get more than one allocation, that doesn't mean the smaller dealerships will get bypassed.

Being as this is a small town, 80% of all the dealers are located at the "auto mall" or within a block of it. Approximately 50% of it is owned by the same guy, Ford, Mazda, Chrysler, Dodge, Nissan..... I think that's it. Anyhow, GTR or not this guy has the car buyers of this area by the balls unless the shoppers head out of town. Saddly, we're one of those "last place you should buy a car" type of place, unless you want a vette. It is a shame the owner turned down the GTR, was hoping to see one locally. It's a small town but they could of definitely atleast had 3 presale vehicles. Especially if the same owner was selling the Ford GT here at $300k and actually moving a few.

you know what, funny thing is my pictures are on my camera and the batteries are dead, you know how that goes:wink:
Sounds almost like "The Nissan company line". delays, delays and more b.s. delays...

sweet! i dont make my money by selling cars at 35k over msrp, i make my money by charging people for the options on thier cars after the 35k mark up on a 75k car:biggrin:
