Anyone have a CTSC'd NSX that has been daily driven for any period of time? It seems like most NSX Prime posts, wrt longevity, are along the lines of "CTSC works great, I haven't had any problems at all in 3 years with almost 6k miles"

Thoughts?

my ctsc was originally installed on my '00. i drove it for 3 years, ~21k miles (daily driver, short commute :).

never a hiccup.

I installed my USED low boost whipple June 7/2008 and to date Nov 14/2008, have run up 8,400 miles. Thats about 5 months.
Trev.

I was just down tuesday pm to thursday pm for that clutchy thingy.

My gas mileage has gone down with the CTSC.
When LarryB and I were traveling together in our NSX's to NSXPO in Ohio we found that from a full tank I would hit half and he(stock) would be a little above 5/8ths, almost 3/4 full in his car.
I do have short gears and a 4.23 r&p and that would impact mileage as well. We were both going steady speed in fifth gear for hours at a time.

That said, I don't care about gas mileage on this car at all. I want to use all I can!

my gas mileage is similar to what pbassjo said above. i put 25k miles on mine and it had it on previously when i purchased it. currently my only hiccup is the car bucks either due to the vaccum colapsing or fuel cutting off can't figure it out yet.

I still averaged 25mpg with the CTSC for NSXPO which was a mix of highway and spirited driving.

Obviously your gas mileage is going to go down, but honestly, it's not enough to worry about.

I too had the short gears and rear end.

I haven't lost that much mpg with my low boost whipple.
If you don't go into boost, then you are not using anymore fuel really, yeah your driving the whipple but it doesn't take that much energy in my mind.
Here is my post on my fuel economy and others added to it.

on a drive from silicon valley -> LA in my ctsc'd '00, i calculated 28mpg. given the time of day / weather conditions / lack of police coverage on that drive, i recall spending much of the time >80mph; around town my mileage was about the same as or a bit below stock.

ummmmm! Reminds me of when I was a kid, they used to sure make good Balls only! Thats how my Mom and Dad saved up to travel the world with us!
Vince, what numbers don't you agree with. I get great mileage both city and highway, just lost like 2-3 Imp. mpg.

I had my CTSC installed at about 70k miles 3.5 years ago. Currently have about 172k with no issues. I get about 24mpg @ 75mph with short gears & 4.23

I'd say that's a pretty much what I get. -2 to -3 mpg.
Short gears in a 5spd, on the highway don't really factor in since 5th is the same ratio with or without short gears. The final drive, if it is a 4.23 or any greater than stock, will make a negative impact on mileage.
