Curb Weight

Hi

What's the curb weight on the earlier model NSX(1991~1994)? I found on the FAQ page that the newer ones weigh 3069lb for a coupe and 3164 for a NSX-T. Are the older ones any lighter than this?

i think mine says 3012lbs and it's a 91'

you can make them much lighter though...I have a friend who's '91 weighs in the 2600 lbs. range. Over 200 lbs lighter than the Zanardi

Stock curb weight on the '91 is 3010 five-speed, 3098 automatic, as noted here.

Lookin through the 2002 brouchere they don't have the curb weight(odd). Back 2 ur ? I'd check out http://pulpfictionracing.com Doug's car is a close as I've seen 2 a real racecar NSX.

Doug's car has everything stripped out of it. I mean EVERYTHING. He also has thin fiberglass or carbon fiber shells replacing the doors, etc. While it may technically be street legal, it is not really a "liveable" street car anymore by most people's definition.

1993 Service Manual lists the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) at 3550 pounds. What is the difference in GVWR and curb weight?

"Curb weight is quoted in the car's specs and is the actual weight of the car with standard equipment and full fluids but no occupants. GVWR is shown on a placard on the car and is the maximum weight under which the car should be operated, and includes occupants and any cargo."

I have been doing a little research into NSX weight reduction. If you go full race car minus a cage and other stuff you would add, you can get the NSX down to less than 2350 lbs.

I just thought a few more things. A Fuel Cell might save weight. Things like the Windshield wiper fluid and container could be lost as well.

He got the weight to 2600 lbs and change by taking everything out...no more anything inside except the seats. The middle console is a bunch of toggles switches and such. the trunk is even cut out from the inside. Has the Volk rims, for get which model but they are light!
