WOW, just WOW...

I know the kid came off as a smart ass... but that cop gets borderline psychotic! He should be fired conduct unbecoming of an officer while on duty. Glad that wasn't me he unloaded on, because I would have ended up in jail or dead!

P.S. - pay attention to his blinker as he turns into the lot...

Oh boy. Here we go again...

Scary that those guys are out there. Gladly, most I have encountered don't seem to be that way.

Must have been a really bad night.

i am 53 yo. the cop's behavior does not surprise me at all.
strange as it may seem to some of you, i think this fellow's camera saved him from a beating. the cop was probably drunk or on speed. or perhaps it is all staged by a couple of drama students.
what i like about this video is that
1. it demonstrates the power of the internet
2. it shows why an in-car camera is a nice thing to have.
does anyone know where i could find a camera like this that does a 30 minute loop?

Sounds like the officer we encountered last night at the meet. My very first true encounter with an unprofessional officer. I get pull over a lot, even got a speeding ticket last week, but I have not yet felt being teated wrong yet.

It really scare me a little bit last night, knowing some officers can't even behave like a normal human.

We kept our cool, the officer definitley lost his. We went to a meet in business parking lot where there are many restaurants. The officer told us we had no business hanging out in the parking lot. WTF, I bought something at the shop. Legitimate customer. Did nothing wrong. We were going to eat there too. There were a big car meet there, but what did we had to do with it.

I told the officer, I just bought something at the shop here 3 minutes ago. He used his flash light and checked in the wrong car. I guess he thought I was being a smart ass since he did see any bags in the car. I was just being honest and well mannered. They sure get mad easy. He then threaten us that he is going to write us fat fix it tickets if we don't leave.

I then said to the officer "is it ok if we go to the restaurant and eat there. He said leave "NOW..............." with fury, when someone lose their cool, you know. That is when you get the F-out of there.

My car was bone stock too (S2K), should had took a video and stayed there and see what kind of ticket he could had handed me other than no front plate. I hope I never go back to that shopping center again.

If our cars were German. I bet he would had let us stayed.

Typical. Cop should not have his job. He should be made to do anything the guy he pulled over wants him to do for a whole day.

Or American cars:biggrin:

What I thought was funny was that the cop never asked him to shut off the car. Everytime I am pulled over, and on COPS too, they always turn the car off.

all that comes to my mind is "SUPERBAD" - the movie

The driver instigates the officer but the officer should have the professionalism to let it roll off his shoulders. There's no excuse for that cop's behavior: bad day, driver pushed the officers buttons, whatever... blah, blah, blah. If he was having that bad of a day, then he should take the day off, not harass a smart-ass. If his buttons could be puhsed that easily, he shouldn't be a cop.

Yeah, we citizens have bad days too, and when we do and take it out on a cop, we get thrown in jail, harassed, etc. If a cop has a bad day... well, here's evidence. Yeah, for all you cop defenders out there, I know, I know... cops are human too, with human emotions. But it's either happening more and more, or it's just as bad as it's always been but because of easily attainable technology and the Internet we're just seeing more of a percentage of it. Plus cops are trained to know how to handle those situations while your average citizen has none (training).

I know what cops do (the good stuff) often goes unnoticed and unrewarded but seeing this type of stuff over and over again makes me sick! Don't bother talking about the good they do... they're *supposed* to do good.

What is the annoying freaking clicking sound through the whole thing?

The cops been placed on unpaid leave as monday.

How do you know that ?

If this is true - that's awesome!! This PIG doesn't deserve to wear that badge

This is all to familiar. Know your rights people, cops are gangsters with badges. F-a cop!

Yeah, yeah,...some of you might say not all cops are like that and some BS that you respect them for what they do, do for us. But fukc that, I'm labeling them as they label/profile me.... They're all dikc heads in my book.

Wow. Tell us how you really feel.

Cops are gangsters w/ badges? Similarly, are civilians criminals who haven't been caught yet?

Hopefully, one day, when one saves your @ss from trouble or rushes to your house when you are out of town and your house alarm is going off, maybe you won't call him/her a dikc.

Officer in trouble over motorist's video in South County
By Patrick M. O'Connell and Georgina Gustin
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
09/11/2007

ST. GEORGE — A car-mounted video camera — more commonly used by police than against them — captured a loud and threatening confrontation in this tiny St. Louis County community that left an officer on suspension and the whole world able to listen in.

The picture doesn't show much, but the audio part of the recording, posted on Google Video and YouTube on the Internet, brought more than 300 protest calls to St. George Police Chief Scott Uhrig.

"I was very displeased when I saw the actions on the video," Uhrig said. "My officers are not trained and taught to act like that."

He put Sgt. James Kuehnlein on unpaid suspension pending further investigation.

Uhrig said the officer's actions were not justified, and he insisted the episode is not representative of his department.

A voice identified as Kuehnlein's can be heard taunting the driver and threatening to jail him on fabricated charges.

The tape, made late last week, was from a camera running in the vehicle Kuehnlein approached, police said.

Brett Darrow, 20, of St. Louis, said he was the driver who recorded the exchange. He posted it online Saturday.

"I wanted everybody to see that this kind of stuff does happen," Darrow said. "I thought if I just go to the chief or whatever, it would just get swept under the rug."

Kuehnlein could not be reached for comment Monday night.

St. George, a municipality of about 1,300, sits along Interstate 55 at Reavis Barracks Road.

In the video, Kuehnlein, a St. George officer for about two years, approaches a young man who was sitting in a parked car about 2 a.m. in a commuter lot near Spokane and Reavis Barracks roads. Kuehnlein asks for identification. When Darrow asks whether he did anything wrong, the officer orders him out of the car and begins shouting.

"You want to try me? You want to try me tonight? You think you have a bad night? I will ruin your night. … Do you want to try me tonight, young boy?"

Darrow says no.

"Do you want to go to jail for some (expletive) reason I come up with?" the police officer says. Later, Darrow says, "I don't want any problems, officer."

"You're about to get it," Kuehnlein is heard saying. "You already started your (expletive) problems with your attitude."

After the officer notices the camera, he says, "I don't really care about your cameras, 'cause I'm about ready to tow your car, then we can tear 'em all apart."

After more than 10 minutes of interaction, Darrow is allowed to go.

Darrow said he was not trying to entrap the officer. He said he pulled into the commuter lot to meet a friend. When the officer asked him for identification, Darrow said he didn't immediately present it because he believes the officer stopped him without probable cause.

Darrow said he installed the cameras in his Nissan Maxima after past run-ins with police. He said he was involved in a physical confrontation in 2005 with an off-duty St. Louis police officer, in a case Darrow said was later dismissed.

Darrow said he plans to meet with Uhrig today to discuss the weekend incident.

Chief Uhrig said Kuehnlein stopped to talk to Darrow because police have received reports of thefts from cars in the area. But, Uhrig said, based on his viewing of the online video, the officer acted inappropriately when he threatened to make up charges, and used a disrespectful tone and inappropriate language.

"We don't do that," Uhrig said. "Someone either violated the law or they didn't. You don't say, I'll lock you up and then come up with why afterward."

You know, your attitude really sucks. Whining endlessly and defending these deadbeat governent workers has gotten really old. You've forgotten one thing- they get PAID by the taxpayers; so if your house alarm does go off they'd better get their fat asses off the Dunkin Donuts stool and do their job.

Wow. I didn't now we've met. But thanks for the advice on my attitude.

You must not have read my post carefully. I'm saying that not all police officers are "dikcs" as the previous poster stated. I wasn't defending this particular officer. Of course his actions were inappropriate.

It sounds like you agree w/ the other poster that all officers are bad, and that's ok. You are entitled to your opinion. Hopefully you never need an officer, and if you do, be sure to turn him/her away.

I'm all for knowing my rights and defending myself against pricks like these but I think you're stating this nonsense based on your previous negative experiences.

Maybe the reason you "think" all cops are pigs is because the only ones you've met are the ones that gave you attitude.

Like someone said, there are honest cops out there who are saving lives and doing the "right" thing out there for us civilians. To say they're all gangsters is a slap in the face of all the hard working good cops.

I question that video. The cop asked for ID, but not registartion nor insurance. I think it is just bad acting.

There are good cops and there are bad cops. Since it is 9/11. pay some respect to those NYPD officers who lost their lives for us citizens.
