Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

I just kicked the supplier off on 10 sets of each! I should have them ready to order sometime next week as their mill guy is out of town this week. I also made a minor adjustment to the tabs that will hopefully hold the lens a little tighter and help prevent bowing even more.
My cost has gone up significantly on these since the last batch was done. But I will keep the price where it has been at for now since I know a lot of people didn't get a chance to get them the first time around since they sold out so quickly.
As always, I will update this thread when they are read to order and PM those who have wanted me to contact them when they are ready.

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

NOW IN STOCK READY TO ORDER!
Again, I have a limited supply of these, but I have both clear and dark tinted ready to ship out. I PMed or emailed those who contacted me before about them. If I missed you somehow, I apologize.
These also have slightly revised tabs that should hold the lens tighter and prevent bowing better.
Don't wait on these as they sold out in a few days last time and it seems to always take me a while to get a batch from the supplier. Just fair warning. As I stated above, my cost has gone up on these, but I am holding the same price as before on this batch.

Order through the site. at http://blodisign.angelfire.com

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

I've lagged way to long to post pics.....The next best thing!! As previously discussed it takes a lil bit of finessing with the fitment but you will get there

Great work Ryan!!! I will take better pics in the future...

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

Chad, thanks for the pic. I always am happy to see a set installed!
Thanks for the orders so far. These are going quickly again. I have 5 sets of clear and 6 sets of tinted left! At this rate, they'll be gone soon.

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

Thanks! The covers came in quick. I had got one side to fit on within 30 secs but I have to take a few more mins to get the other side to fit just the way I liked it. I am really happy with the product! I will post up pics soon. Thanks again!

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

Only one pair of tinted left! If you want tinted get em before they are gone. I don't know exactly when I'll be doing another batch of these.
Still several sets of clear as well in stock!

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

Question...

are the two tinted ones at the top of the thread two different tints or the same. They look slightly different in the picture....

Are you going to get any more tints?

would like a set over in the uk but have a US postal address is that's easier?? Would prefer direct to UK though.

Thanks

The tinted ones are all the same tint. They are all cut from the same material from the same supplier, its probably just the way the light is hitting them.
I will eventually get more tinted ones made, although its hard to say exactly when..could potentially be months. If I keep getting requests for them I'll try to get some made, although the supplier is usually very slow at getting them done.
Another option for those that want tinted ones is getting a set of clear and then use either automotive window tinting or transparent tint spray paint to get the effect. Although obviously having the them cut from the tinted material is more durable.
I can certainly ship to the UK, I usually charge an extra $10 to cover the shipping costs.

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

Thanks for your reply.

I did think about getting the clear ones and then tinting to suit but I was a bit concerned as to whether the finish would just crack and flake off? I can't make my mind up whether I like the clear ones on the black car or not. Or whether a slight tint would look better. My car is a dark colour, Midnight Pearl.

I may order a set in a day or two?

Have you tried tinting the clear ones yourself?

Cheers

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

I myself have tinted a set yellow as I showed in a pic earlier in this thread. I just used brush on transparent hobby paint. It has held up well, but since it was brush on you can see brush marks up close. A spray version would have been a lot better I am sure.
I would think if you sprayed them on the inside they would hold up pretty well.
If anyone else has experience, maybe they'll chime in.

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

Hi Ryan,

I did place an order for the clear ones in the end...Did you get it?

Thanks,

Gary

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

Im still out of tinted ones for now, but still plenty of clears in stock.
I just ordered a few different colors of translucent spray paint to play with and see what works on these. I got a dark tinted one to see if that works for those that have clear ones and want to tint them, and also a red as well to see how it would look if you wanted to color match them to your car....I'll post an update and pics when I get the paint....

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

Well I got my paint earlier tonight. I went out and played with some old prototype clear lenses that I had laying around.
This is the paint I used. Tamiya translucent hobby paint....

Here are the outcomes...the top one is a standard blodisign tinted lens then one using the smoked Tamiya paint...then obviously the red and yellow....
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/51678948@N00/3310571836/" title="DSC01657 by blodi, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3602/3310571836_1940a5506b_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="DSC01657" /></a>

Here is a close up of the regular tinted lens and the painted one...the painted one is a bit darker, however that is because I put some really thick coats of the paint on. It comes out pretty light if you just do one coat...so you can control how "tinted" you want them to be.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/51678948@N00/3310568358/" title="DSC01654 by blodi, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3541/3310568358_f9953402e9.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="DSC01654" /></a>

Finally a shot of the red ones on my car....sorry my car is on jackstands so I can't get much of a better shot than this right now.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/51678948@N00/3310567386/" title="DSC01645 by blodi, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3633/3310567386_ea71ccb9b1.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="DSC01645" /></a>

This probably isn't what I would call "legal" to have the red covers on the front of the car...but I just thought I would post these options to show everyone what can be done with just some clear lens covers if you wanted to.....and I am still out of stock of the regular tinted ones for the record. Hopefully I'll get another batch going soon.

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

Took mine off today for the first time to wash the car. A piece of the passenger side cover cracked off where the top screw secures the hooked tab. :frown: Any chance I can get a replacement?

Fantastic! Thanks and will pm you.

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

For those who are waiting for tinted ones. I kicked the supplier off on them, they are waiting for more tinted material to come in...its tricky stuff to find.
I'll update the thread when I get them in and try to PM everyone who has been asking for them. Still plenty of clear ones in stock right now though!
Thanks!

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

Got mines on finally.....still has a slight gap in the middle, but overall good stuff.
Thanks for all your help.

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

blodi,

As a note of caution, I installed mine when they arrived then put my car in storage. I took my car out of storage the other day to take some pictures with and without the lens covers installed. It was a cold day and one shattered when I removed it. I only got to enjoy them on my car for about 8 miles. I am not blaming anyone. I like the fit and the look. I just hope I can save someone else from making the same mistake that I did.
