Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

I orderd a set of tinted covers as well!

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

I just shipped out all of the Dark Tinted Covers! I apologize they got delayed in getting shipped out, but the supplier got the tabs cut last night for me out of the right material and I got them all out today.
I have one set of tinted left! Still no new batches of clear ones yet. I will keep you updated.
Thanks again for all the orders so far! I would love to see some pics of those who have installed theirs already.

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

Tinted are sold out now as are clears. I do have one set of very lightly used clear signal covers for sale. They are basically new, just have a few very light scratches on the tabs from test fitting. I'll let them go for $75 plus shipping. PM me if your are interested.
I will post an update once I get more in stock!
Thanks,
Ryan

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

OoOOOooOOOhhh!!

Can't wait to receive mine!

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

I cannot get mine to fit right no matter what I try and I am worried that I'm scratching the paint by continuously moving them around. They just seem a little too long and I cannot get rid of the bowing affect. Is it possible I got a set that are a little too long?

They are all cut identically by a mill. Let me know if you have tried the above fitment tricks. I am thinking for future runs of these I am going to accomodate more adjustablilty in the tabs since there seems to be some that are having fitment issues. There is just more variance between cars that I had anticipated.

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

Are the screws black or silver?

I had the same issue, I had to make the holes in the brackets into 'oval' shaped holes to allow for more adjustability, but still had a slight bulge issue, I think the main issue is these parts are held tight by friction, and some of the older cars do not have enough friction to keep the brackets from sliding.

wrapping tape around the trailing edge of the brackets, and adjusting them slightly inward, removed 80% of my fittiment concerns. Right now, they fit okay, not perfect, but for the price, and the application, they're acceptable.

I think for the ultimate, perfect fit, it would be necessary to drill holes into your bumper, or tape the brackets to the indicators - I would have preferred some kind of double-sided tape bracket, as that would not require friction. If you remove the indicator shield from the unit, you can see that it is the perfect shape for the opening, the concern is the distance between the brackets, and the tendency of the brackets to move, once in place.

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

I had pretty much no problem getting mine to fit.

They're not "perfect" but I'd say they're as close as I'd expect something like this to look.

I throw my pics up tomorrow when I get to work.

Can you show a pic looking straight down at the cover so I can see the amount of gap between the cover and the car caused by any bowing?

Yeah, I can try and do that for you...might take me a couple days though, lol. If you look closely, my left one is bowing just a tad (follow the black/silver interface). But I tightened that up my pushing/spreading it out after I took the pictures and noticed it. We'll see if it stays or tries to move around.

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

Got my set tonight, and immediately threw them on.

I actually thought they fit like crap until I realized you really have the JAM the pieces into the slot between the light and the body and slide it as far tot he edges as possible to get it to look right.

I am very pleased, thanks Blodi for such a great little product. Mugen covers are imposible to get, these are way nicer!

A couple of bad shots in my garage at night:

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

Thanks for posting the pics guys, they look great! I am so happy to hear you guys like them.
I am still trying to get more in stock. Unfortunately, I was let go from work this week as quite a few were, (who knew Ford Motor Company was doing so bad?) and my supplier connection was through work, so I am working to keep that relationship going so I can keep getting these produced at a good price.
I will update when I get more in!

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

Sorry to hear about your job.... hopefully you will find a position you like even more.

Good work on the covers, I am still enjoying mine.
Keep up the good work!

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

Update: I just got an email from the supplier....finally. So it looks like they'll be able to do more. I don't know exactly when or if they'll raise the price on me, but I just wanted to keep everyone updated. I haven't forgotten about these!
It could be a few weeks at the rate they work, but more will be coming!
I will update with news!

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

I took a couple pics of a car I saw in Japan last week that had signal covers.....maybe these are the mugen ones.....anyway I was surprised to see thay also had a slight bowing affect...........So I guess a little bowing is acceptable.........

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

I noticed them in your other thread. Thanks for taking some pics of them! Those look to be the Route KS version. I have heard that they have really bad bowing, and that is with them drilled into the bumper!

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

I have the Route Ks covers myself, and I think they are very well made. Hard to appreciate them unless you see it mounted correctly in person. Not to knock blodi's covers as I have a spare set myself . But with theses covers, regardless of who makes them, the quality of the install makes the most difference. The route ks covers are not as easy to mount as blodi's since they have to be screwed in. So you need to be quite methodical and exact with the mounting of the brackets. I spent my time installing these and after 10k miles they still have not loosened or needed readjustment.

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

Has anyone tried a heat gun to permanently warp the blodi covers to a more exact fit? I am tempted but don't wat to bugger up my only set :(

The cover itself is the perfect shape, the issue is with the mounting mechanism. If you use a heat gun, you are playing with the shape of the cover, which is fine; I think, if you want a perfect fit, you will need to screw the bracket into the bumper - friction between the blinker mount and the plastic only provides perhaps an 80% fit, a slight bow, and bad fit in the end corners. If the part were taped to the blinker, or secure to the bumper with screws, there would be no flex, the optimal fit which can be achieved for a few moments, until the blinkers shift again, would be retained, as the mounts would be secure.

Re: bLodisign Front Signal Covers-Ready to order!

I am now working with a new supplier on these since the old one was obviously very slow....they were great helping me through the development process, but I can't wait 6 months everytime I want to get a batch made.
So I should have more coming soon! They are supposed to get back to me tomorrow with a final price and time frame. Hopefully they aren't too much more expensive and I'll be able to keep the price the same, but I will post with updates!
Also I wanted to throw this out there to gauge interest.... I painted my clear ones with a transparent yellow paint. I am sure I could get some made out of a yellow material for this look....any interest in this? I am going to get just the clear and tinted made to start with, but I am just thinking of other options down the road.
