Have you clarified the mileage driven per year with the company? Don't want to get screwed when you try to collect. What options have you selected?

Still waiting for the qoute!!

Curious, when you guys put the value in the first page for a quote, did you include cost of all your mods..etc?

And the value that you put in, is that the value that insurance will pay out in replacement for the car for what ever reason?

What were other criterias you would recommend?
liability? (minimal)
Comprehensive? (comp only)
deductible? (500)
medical converage? (no)

I put the above for a 91 nsx valued at 32k. I got the online quote for $365. Does that mean I only have to pay $365/year to insure my car, and anything happens, they'll pay out 32k?? Seems too good to be true.

thanks for your help.

David, I set the value of my car to more then replace and pay for the limited mods I have. Your questions about coverages are a function of risk, how much do you want to be responsible for?
The amount of repayment, in my case they cap at $55K, is for total loss, if they can repair/remedy for less they will attempt to.

The NSX is one of the easiest vehicle for insurance to totalled out, given that it is so expensive to repair. The insurance company is not happy about it, bur here in CA, they can't increase your premium at all (against the law.)

Rejected

Just got a rejection letter from American Hobbyist.

They had previously sought clarification of my use of vehicle. All proposed uses were within the parameters laid out on their website. For comparison purposes, I have a spotless driving record and own four other vehicles (significant in that it shows that the X won't be used as a daily driver)

The rejection letter states that the reason is because of excessive mileage (I said 4500 miles per year), newer vehicle by their standards (I have a 95), and no car club activity (I hadn't mentioned that I belong to NSXCA.

I'm going to try another collector car insurance company.
