abalone diving in month of june

guys,

the doc says i'm good to go on ab diving as long as no great white bites or blunt force trauma to the head are involved. (ken, that means you'll have to quit hitting me every time you get an ab!)

any body up for a day in the water over the next week or two? season ends @ the end of november.

hal

That's great news Hal!

Count me in!

Good for you Hal. Glad to hear the good news. As for Ken, have you considered a shock collar?

thx guys!

doug, i like your thinkin' re ken... we could integrate it w/his mask so the mask lights up a bit like a christmas tree. with the right components, it would serve as an underwater locator to help when things are a bit dark down there.

come to think of it, ken might have one of those laying around the house - ken?

I loaned my mask running-lights to Doug so he could locate chicks in the clubs. they just don't turn the lights up in those places like the used to, huh big guy? If Doug can return my mask I'm game for a dive.

Doug?

Doug?

You got it Ken. Could I borrow them again when you get back? I found chicks at the clubs were wild for the mask and the running-lights were icing on the cake, if you get my drift. I think it was a big hit because I heard a lot of, "It's better than a brown paper bag over his head."

Do you need to borrow my water wings?

Have you and Hal discussed that shock collar thing?

cool.

ken?

(btw, i suppose we should keep an eye on the weather wrt tues... i think i heard on the news tonight that we might see a light rain over the weekend.)

Are you concerned about getting wet while you go diving?

Please phost photos of Ken's shirt.

yes, that's why i wear a dry suit

actually, if it's been raining there is likely to be a muddy / silty run-off from the shoreline which makes that cove an awful like swimming through chocolate pudding and significantly reduces the possibility of finding abs.

although chocolate pudding is good, too :)

Chocolate pudding doesn't sound like much fun to me, and I thought we were all macaroni salad people here.

Anyway, I could make Tuesday work. Let me know.

Doug, please wash the mask before returning it next time. You know what I'm talking about, don't even pretend you don't.

Sorry Ken. My bad.:redface::tongue:

groovy, let's plan on tues - i'll call the ocean cove store to confirm conditions on sun afternoon and we can take it from there.

yeah, doug - dive mask bong, my a$$

I got my mask back from Doug and I think it's in pretty fair condition, considering how it's treated it when he "uses" it. Are we still diving?

Listen, I had no idea that there would be a "chemical reaction." I am going to dinner with the Latin chick. I am out of here...:tongue:

great time, great results and a relatively quick turn around on the day.

i don't know about you guys but up there on the bluff, gazing over the ocean, it felt like we were in italy... or was it france?

damn!

great time guys, maybe we can get in 1 more day before end of season?

A few pics to document:

First I thought we should try diving here:

Hal suggested it might be nicer over there:

so instead of going to the trouble of actually preparing, driving, diving, driving back home, cleaning up and prepping the stuff we can just order it from am-uh-zon?

wow.

lemme know how that works out

I'm hungry. I've also heard that abalone have huge teeth and they are extremely dangerous to hunt. Is that true? If so, I think you guys are very brave to hunt for your food like that. Have you guys ever shot a bear? If so, was it with a rifle or with a bow and arrow?
