$3k to spend, Kw-V3s or Brembo GT front kit as my next upgrade?

what tires and size are you using? What is your experience level? what pads/fluid do you use?Are the front heat shields on?
do you wanna chime in....help me help you..

Thanks for the responses Everyone..Docjohn, I am running Yokahama Advan AD08s, 265/35/18 in rear, 215/40/17 in front..
My experience level is intermediate I would say, I have a skip barber racing school and about 22 track days with the NSX..

As for brake components, I am running Motul RBF 600 brake fluid, Carbotech xp10s in front, and xp8s in rear, and I have removed the heat shields and added the Science of speed brake deflectors.

thankyou......get the KW....you might be able to adjust the susp to balance your tire stagger as you will understeer with those 215 fronts.

does your brake fluid heated up and turning brown? Just to give you an idea, that's the sign of you overusing your brake and may need upgrade. The stoptech oem size 2 pieces rotor will give you a lot better cooling and you don't really need the rears. so KW for 2000-2500. 500 for the rotors. you staying in your budget and you will be happy.

I'm wondering why you wouldn't just go with the stoptech BBK over the Brembo when you do upgrade. It's such a good kit for this car.

Cost and wheel fitment, essentially.. My rims won't fit stoptech but they will fit the Brembos, so would not only have to buy the brake pads but would need a whole new set of rims/tires if I went with the Stoptechs..Also, From what I have read/heard, if I go with the brembos I can get away with just upgrading the fronts and using different pad compounds for front and rear, but if I went with Stoptechs I would need to upgrade the front and rear, which is a couple grand more...Maybe I am wrong about this?

Yeah you're wrong about that. LOL... What you can do with a brembo front only kit you can do just as well with a stop tech front only kit. And you can get the front kit for cheap. You can also use a 5mm spacer and any wheel that fits the brembo will now fit the stoptech. If you do decide to get the rears, not only will it cost you less but it will have a slightly more proper bias for this car. ST40's as well as trophies are forged. The brembo lotus GT kit is not. They are both good, but in this particular case, considering cost, quality, and bias, I just think you are slightly better off with ST.

There are plenty of wheels that will fit the brembos but not the stoptechs! I have the stoptech template and it really limits wheel options unless you only like wheels like the advans you have Turbo!

Really? I thought it was just a 3-4 mm difference fixed with a spacer. Anyway it's worth looking into, he can save a lot of money getting some stotechs from any number of vendors on prime.

It's not just the width of the caliper. The stoptech is longer too and does not fit within all 17" wheels. I have always been glad I got the brembos bc I switch between wheels and the stoptechs would be a pain in my ass. I would have to sell literally half my wheel collection! But for track driving at the limit stoptech may be better.

Thanks everyone for the feedback, I ended up going with the KW V3s for now, although something tells me a brake upgrade may be looming sometime in the future..

I just put in the order for them today, so hope to have them installed before my next track day at Thunderhill end of April.

You can always go with a racing brake caliper and 2 piece rotor kit for the front, w a rear extension bracket, oem caliper and 2 piece rear rotorss for a lot less. If you run a dtc pad front and rear ( for track) the balance is pretty good.

Thanks, do you know where I can get the racing brake caliper or
Two piece rotors? I would like to look into this

Sure, just look up their website. The 4-piston ALuminum caliper and two piece rotor kit is pretty affordable and i cant see much difference between these and more costly options. You could buy through dali but not worth the risk....
i had a boxster s with great brakes. These are as good. OEM not even close. I dont believe anyone who says they are or they have never driven a car with awesome brakes..

John I have to drive your car the next time we go to HPR. I think my OEM with Carbotech XP8 pads is pretty damn good. Of course, I am on street rubber. :D

OP congrats on the KW choice. One thing to consider once you drive them is you *may* want to change spring rates. KW ships with balanced 343# front and rear rates. In my personal experience I have upgraded the fronts to 457 first, and have now settled on a 627/343 setup.

I would think your current setup is very good for a car that sees a fair amount of track duty. What swaybars do you have?

I've got the Dali Track bar on its stiffest setting upfront (only b/c I can't get a Trophy bar out of Mark). I went back to OEM on the rear. That, plus all the chassis-stiffening goodies on the market (Targa ya know) and most of titaniumdave's goodies.

Did you revalve when u change the spring rates? or just stiffen the damper?

No need to revalve, the damper can match up to about 300 lb difference. Source is a KW engineer-

Yes I was asking about another application. It is more of a general rule for most dampers, at the very least specific to KW.
