I am not the least bit disappointed with my S2000. Otherwise, I agree with you and Ken.

OUPS! I guess that I made a mistake in my sentence formulation!

I mean that the s2k is a great achievement so we were NOT disappointed with it!

Honda proved once again that they can upgrade their beloved concept of optimum performance with less displacement to new highs...

So I woukd have say:

Didn't they NOT disappointed us with the S2K!

( sorry, English isn't my first language )

Thanks for putting it in evidence!

I agree and as I previously mentionned, I would go for something very near of the original design but; lower ( 41" ) and wider, 18-19 inches wheels, keeping tail designg with integrated side to side lights and spoiler...

I don't hate the drawing proposal of Steve Eastwood as seen in R&T of August 2000
( except for the hood design - In my mind it CANNOT have a center line - For me that hood center part MUST be the LOWEST possible thus putting in evidence higher sides wheels wells )

But one thing's for sure, the new NSX MUST keep the superb like it does when we look at the red NSX picture ( pre 02 )in the Acura's brochure.

Why is it that Toyota can come out with a 450hp v-10 exotic, and all i hear is that honda cant make over 290 hp because of some hp agreement all the japanese manufactures have? Oh well just wanted to rant.

[/QUOTE]

Since this is an inside Japan agreement ( is it? ) I don't see why they couldn't make 400+hp version for foreign market?

Well I see a bit cauz this would be a titanic insult for theirs local customers...but business is business...

So let's start the inflation bhp party!!!

effer

ps How can I insert in my messages pictures from my folders?

ARGGH!!!!!!!! where is the info on the toyota?!?!?!?!?

you cant insert pics from your local machine, you need to put them on a website somewhere and then link to the website by putting tags around the URL of the picture.

Honda hides its future cars as well as any company in the business. It's virtually unheard of to see spy photos of upcoming Honda cars. The only concrete information you'll hear is what Honda wants to be known.

The upcoming Toyota supercar mentioned in the new (September) Road & Track article on future models is in the same category as the new NSX - rumors only, nothing reliable, and not expected for at least two years. Remember, Toyota (or was it Nissan?) had a prototype mid-engine supercar called the MID4 that was shown for several years, but they finally canned the project.

The Civic Si is NOT a sports car. Honda is constrained in the States with its Civic line insofar as it does not want to put out a real "Type R" model under the Honda name, so as not to distract from its Acura flagship brand. (Of course, no such constraints exist for the "new NSX".) You can read more about it in this week's Autoweek article about the Civic Type R introduced in Europe.

oh ok...... i also recall several years ago an article about a forthcoming toyota supercar called the 4000GT. wondering if it's the same deal or if that was canned. the hypothetical drawings were gorgeous though

Nissan it was, and they had several iterations of the MID4, here are a couple of images, just for curiosity sake

*cough* TOyYoda MR2 *cough* *cough*

The rear of the car resembles that of a Lotus. it would be a real shame if they went that route. May be the value of our cars would then increase. There is the old adage, I if aint broke, don't fix it.

Sorry to dissapoint but there won't be another NSX. The 2002 will be sold into 2003 and Honda will pull the plug.

Soon after the news are confirmed those well kept '91s will be selling for 50K plus. Cost of '97s to '01s? Priceless!!

You are probably right. Who here is good at musical chairs?

Unless Honda thinks a SuperCharger is a minor tweak, then I think they are VERY wrong. IE.. look how poorly the 2002's sold.

I want a midengine sportscar. I want over 450hp w/ a reasonable amount of torque. I want a lightweight car that handles better than most anything out there. I want decent brakes that don't require aftermarket pads and cooling ducts to remain fade free. I want a body that makes me drop my jaw - my '91 still does that to me. I want the ability to modify and tune it extensively when I get finished paying off the loan. I want an excellent, no frills, driver compartment. I want it reliable and I want a warranty. I want it in red.

I don't care about gas mileage. I don't care if the car hugs trees or not. I don't care if it's made out of some spaceage material. I don't even care if it costs more than 120K.

But I do want it. Hopefully, Honda produces it.
