2002 NSX-R vs. Supersonic Beasts!

That is the same lap time as those of the Porsche GT3 and Porsche 911 TT!

It is also:

- 8 seconds faster than Diablo (8:04)
- 11 seconds faster than 550 Maranello (8:07)
- 13 seconds faster than 360 Modena (8:09)
- 21 seconds faster than '02 996 (8:17)

Not bad.

Are there any other good comparisons like this, even older ones? Maybe in Italian motor mags, the Lambo's and F-50's smoked em all. Was the same driver used for all of the cars, or different drivers for each car?I think this comparison is a bit biased, but being a NSX lover, I like them all the same. Tests like these make me more and more proud and content with my purchase decision. But, I would still like to see some more comprehensive comparisons like this. In the "rags" they usually only compare with one or two different cars, and those other cars and usually stock 911 or vettes...not big boys like F-50, Lambo, etc.

Anyone know how to buy this?

Blurr, since you live about an hour drive away from Little Tokyo, you can drop by Asahiya or Kinukuniya. There's a good chance that none of these 2 bookstores currently stock it, as I recalled gotten my copy thru pre-order. The phone #'s are 213-626-5650 for Asahiya and 213-687-4447 for Kinokuniya. I think you can opt to have it shipped straight to your door if you don't feel like dropping by LT to pick it up. Description/title of video: BestMotoring vol. #55: NSX-R Debut.

Cheers.

I just got mine on eBay. It's pretty cheap there, if you don't mind VCD format.

Thanks for the great tip !!
Did a search on eBay immediately and found several listings for this CD. Have ordered one immediately because the price is not that high, about 14 US$ including shipping to Europe for the VCD.

True that a driver can make or break a car at the track. But when they are at that level, the difference will be so little it is negligible. The difference between a top driver and worse driver at that level won't be more than a couple of seconds!

ICBW, but I think Nurburgring keeps a running list of all the best times, so anyone can bring anything to the track w/ any driver. If the quoted times are the best from that list, then I think there's some basis for comparison, because you can choose whichever driver you think is best for the car.

! Why do not we write to the Nürburgring website and ask them to please add tht time to the list? I imagine they are also interested in keeping the list up to date!

That's a splendid idea Gheba. Got a link to their website?

I have that video. The RX7 driver was very consistant despite his flu. Anyways, what bothered me was why didn't they use a Type R? I would imagine it would be a much better track car than the S or S Zero.
