About the uneven pad wear, there is a possibility you install the pads wrong. The pads have knubbies that suppose to slot into the pistons. Often time, inexperience people forgot about this or install the outer pads on the inside.

Chrome is the worse. I saw an S500 tried to burn rubber, instead it has the wheels spinning on the tires!! You guessed it, chrome wheels.
