Thinking of coming back to the NSX world...except for this one thing.

Alex, as a toy, the Exige is hard to beat. If you are planning to track it, bring your helmet to the test drive/"fitting". Alot of taller guys have trouble fitting w/ their helmets on, there are some after-market lower seats on Sector111 and other sites, also depends on the brand of helmet...

Thinking of coming back to the NSX world...except for this one thing.

Exige is a dedicated coupe (actually the hard top is removable) with a fastback configuration, mostly to acommodate the intercooler on SC versions. It has a factory rear wing, side scoops and splitter and a roof scoop. The Eilse has "flying buttress" style B-pillars (like a C3 Sting-Ray or F...

Thinking of coming back to the NSX world...except for this one thing.

Actually, 1.8 liter 2ZZGE, 190 hp in the NA version (the old Celica GTS powerplant). The motor and tranny are fine, quite reliable. Some rear toe link failures and finicky ECU's mostly. The early cars had a weak shifter which was (reluctantly) retrofitted. The front and rear clams are...

I stand corrected, 260S isn't street legal in US. my old Elise:

Thinking of coming back to the NSX world...except for this one thing.

Been there: 92 NSX> 05 Elise> 04 NSX. The Elise/ Exige is a great car but not as nice to drive in the real world. The Exige S does have a slightly better hp:weight ratio than a NA NSX. A naturally aspirated Exige has a similar power: weight ratio as the NSX. The 240S is not street legal...

    restoring headlights

My '04 has headlights that have seen 100 K miles of sandblasting in it's previous life in CA. What's the best way to restore the headlight lenses from all the pitting? (windsheild is pretty bad too) Thanks!

In what color should i refinish my TE37s

gloss black w/ thin red stripe at periphery. Saw these on a red Exige, hawt!

Should I paint my factory 05 wheels?

dark gunmetal, like the previous generation TL-S rims would look fantastic on Silverstone. I have Volk GT-C's in gunmetal w/ polished rims, classic but dated.

New Purchase - Drive or Ship?

I've changed 2 timing belts on 2 NSX's one at 60 K, the other at 100 K. Both looked pristine when the tech's showed them 2 me. I'm betting you'd be fine to drive it home...do you feel lucky? actually, I like Bill C's advice.

    2010 Camaro

Thanks Dave, exactly what I was gonna ask. I kinda liked the Challenger till I saw one in person, too big and tall, same as the Mustang.

Honda please wake the f*ck up!

The Evora is the spiritual succesor to the NSX and I had been seriously considering it as a replacement for my Elise. Ultimately it was the fragile Lotus body (and the excessive price) that brought me back to an '02+ NSX. It should be a pretty cool car and an interesting niche (low hp...

The Newest Track Playground in America

Interesting to see how it does. The Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL was one of the first of these and it seems to be doing pretty well in its 4th or 5th year. A lot of the clientelle for these clubs are somewhat more insulated from the recession than the public at large, still a gamble...

The "soul" of the NSX as compared to others

Tim, You have to go to Road Atlanta! I've raced at several tracks and that track is hands down my favorite! The elevation change from 10b to 12 is a blast and the esses have a really cool rhythm. Also, I don't know if anyone talked about the sound of the NSX's motor and intake, but it really...

The "soul" of the NSX as compared to others

My Elise had more "soul" than the NSX. The NSX is a much better street car. The NSX has more soul than my buddie's 997 (seriously, to me anyway). Japanese cars just have a different feel than German or British cars, hard to describe really. I had a '59 MGA that had more soul than all of...

Comparisons of 911s to NSX? Considering buying an NSX!

I have driven many 911's, from '78 930 turbo to 996 turbo and NA 997. I have never owned one. I think they are all extraordinary sportscars but a tad "common". I think the NSX feels a tad bit more refined and is probably easier to drive on the track than most 911's I've sampled (ie, little...

    Honda Quality is incredible

my '04 w/ 102 K miles runs like a top, no leaks, good compression, etc. Just did the 100 K service and clutch, now getting lowering springs mounted. the interior is flawless and panel fitment excellent, no squeaks or rattles. Paint isn't perfect but it lived outside in LA for the first 4.5...
