When I had my '92, I wanted the '02 look. Now that I have an '04, I really appreciate the beauty of the pop-ups. I think the early cars are more classic-early '90's cool. The pop-ups are nicely proportioned w/ small projectors that were ahead of their time... that said, I like 'em both!

I watched that again recently, he really drives poorly, IMHO. Maybe he was exaggerating to make a point, but his inputs are not at all smooth and he seems to throw in alot of gratuitous opposite lock. Not that I could do better, but I'd sure like to try... just saying.

my '92 was an automatic. I would have kept it if it was a manual. Glad I didn't, as the transmission failed shortly after I sold it! If you want an '04, get a 6-speed, fabulous transmission! I personally think that the resale market for an automatic NSX is very small.

back on track, I just need $36,000/year more to race a full season next year. nothing nebulous there. anyone interested in sponsoring a middle-aged, mid-pack running formula car racer? I'm sure that with more seat time I can be a contender...:biggrin:

I've been racing in the Skip Barber Regional race series for 3 years. I do some instructing at HPDE's from time to time. Go-karts as often as I can. Huge F1 fan for about 10 years, BAR Honda>factory Honda>now Brawn GP. Been a fan of JB for years, great to see his success this year!:biggrin:

What they said except for one thing: please don't downshift to slow your car down, that's what brakes are for. Even w/ perfectly executed, double-clutched, rev-matched downshifts, it's just unnecessary wear on your clutch and transmission. There is only one reason to down-shift a sportscar...

+1, mine holds a full gear bag w/ suit/helmet/ HANS and a small overnight bag for street clothes and Dopp kit. The boot in the Elise was tiny in comparison.

my NSX has more miles on it than any car I've ever owned ( aside from an International Harvester truck back in the day). I have no doubts that many passed over the car due to it's mileage, did not scare me off. There are some bargains out there if you are willing to give the high mileage...

Best of luck in your search. I will be interested in your opinion of the NSX after you drive one. Can't think of 2 more opposite cars than the ones you are considering. I suspect you may find the NSX's lack of torque frustrating...

I had Porterfield R4S on my Elise, no better than stock on the track and worse than stock on the street. Will be getting CT XP8's for the NSX based on recommendations here and from others (V8 Esprit).
