salt, fat or sugar - which do you reduce first?

as a physician, I'll take exception to the previous emphasis placed on a low salt diet and suggest that sugar and fat should be eliminated first from the average American's diet. Not everyone with hypertension is salt sensitive, and most young people are not hypertensive. Most Americans...

    Relationships/Love/Life

another thing, if a marriage fails it doesn't mean the relationship was a failure or a mistake, just a transition. I'm not convinced there is that one person who is your soul-mate, you will always have to compromise something, the question is, how much? You may want to break your (presumed)...

    Relationships/Love/Life

    Thinking of going '02.

When I had my '92, I wanted the '02 look. Now that I have an '04, I really appreciate the beauty of the pop-ups. I think the early cars are more classic-early '90's cool. The pop-ups are nicely proportioned w/ small projectors that were ahead of their time... that said, I like 'em both!

NSX on "BEST of Top Gear" tonight ?

I watched that again recently, he really drives poorly, IMHO. Maybe he was exaggerating to make a point, but his inputs are not at all smooth and he seems to throw in alot of gratuitous opposite lock. Not that I could do better, but I'd sure like to try... just saying.

Please help me find an NSX. Ready to buy. Having Problems.

well said, I started looking again 8/08, purchased 1/09. Take your time, prices get cheaper in the winter also!

    Should I switch from a 1994 to 2004 NSX?

my '92 was an automatic. I would have kept it if it was a manual. Glad I didn't, as the transmission failed shortly after I sold it! If you want an '04, get a 6-speed, fabulous transmission! I personally think that the resale market for an automatic NSX is very small.

how much income per year is 'enough'?

back on track, I just need $36,000/year more to race a full season next year. nothing nebulous there. anyone interested in sponsoring a middle-aged, mid-pack running formula car racer? I'm sure that with more seat time I can be a contender...

Would you sell the NSX to buy/build an ULTIMA GTR (Not Nissan)?

the second Ultima, the silver one, OMG that's gorgeous! Never seen one with that style rear deck and tail-lights...

    most pleasant / unexpected surprise?

the fact that my '04 smelled exactly like my '92 after 3 years NSX-less. ...weird, but cool.

Working Out The "New Car" Kinks: Some Questions

I've been racing in the Skip Barber Regional race series for 3 years. I do some instructing at HPDE's from time to time. Go-karts as often as I can. Huge F1 fan for about 10 years, BAR Honda>factory Honda>now Brawn GP. Been a fan of JB for years, great to see his success this year!

Working Out The "New Car" Kinks: Some Questions

What they said except for one thing: please don't downshift to slow your car down, that's what brakes are for. Even w/ perfectly executed, double-clutched, rev-matched downshifts, it's just unnecessary wear on your clutch and transmission. There is only one reason to down-shift a sportscar...

Lotus Evora - The NSX's Successor?

If I can extrapolate from my Elise experience, I'd predict the biggest problem for Evora owners will be the fragile body work and sub-par fit and finish. While the Elise/Exige handle brillilantly, I've personally witnessed 3 rear toe-link failures in these cars at the track. Is the motor...

Well at least Honda did this one mid-engine

 The '07+ MDX looks good, the TSX is OK, the TL looks like a Parrot-fish in the front.

Golf clubs in the trunk ???

+1, mine holds a full gear bag w/ suit/helmet/ HANS and a small overnight bag for street clothes and Dopp kit. The boot in the Elise was tiny in comparison.

how much income per year is 'enough'?

interesting thread, got me thinking, if I plotted my income and happiness on a graph, I'd find that they were roughly inversely proportional... Now, I want more money so I can race more ( and there's never enough money for that!)

    F1 2009 megathread

finally caught up on the F1 news from last w/e while I was in the car myself. Very happy for Rubens and somewhat disappointed the Schumi circus never happened. Ted, you would have enjoyed the show that Wade, Franz and I put on at Road America last w/e. Franz races kinda dirty by the way...

How many miles are too many when buying a NSX

my NSX has more miles on it than any car I've ever owned ( aside from an International Harvester truck back in the day). I have no doubts that many passed over the car due to it's mileage, did not scare me off. There are some bargains out there if you are willing to give the high mileage...

    Greetings Board !!!

Best of luck in your search. I will be interested in your opinion of the NSX after you drive one. Can't think of 2 more opposite cars than the ones you are considering. I suspect you may find the NSX's lack of torque frustrating...

    Brake pads/brake line recommendations

I had Porterfield R4S on my Elise, no better than stock on the track and worse than stock on the street. Will be getting CT XP8's for the NSX based on recommendations here and from others (V8 Esprit).
