I thought this was the best car group, but with the implicit bias that I see on here, I'm stating to rethink that.
Yesterday one of our members said on a tread on this site after another member said he was looking at a 95: "I would look for a 91-94 or a 97+". The new member said is there a reason to avoid the 95-96" "They are heavier than the 91-94 due to the targa and they don't have the 3.2 motor to help offset the difference. The 95+ cars also do not have tunable ECUs like 91-94 (which won't bother most people), and have more emissions equipment, at least for the US models."
If on the off chance you want to tune your stock ECU, just buy an AEM of ProEFI, why don't you kill off the 97* for a non-tunable ECU
Same emissions equipment across for NSX first gens US models.
I read on here many times that the 95-96 is the worst NSX.
Is the 91-94 worse than the 97-2005 NSX ? Is 91-94 worse than the NC1? Shall I pick at your cars and make a case?
Now, were orphans according to this statement. "1995 and 1996 are a bit of orphan years"
After the attack, some say "there all good NSX's". Gas lighting at it's best.
If you have a 1995 - 1996 model you might as well not join this site, it's for exclusively for 91-94 and 97-05 model years, you will get crapped on every chance they get.
Even the Admins who should be unbiased, repeat and allow this behavior.
If you have a 1995 or 1996 NSX on NSXprime your a second class member. They'll say your car is crap over and over again and everyone will applaud and 2nd this behavior.
The 95-96 cars are only an extra 100lbs more than 91-94 and 20hp less than 97-05
If weight is such an issue We could just remove the battery, spare tire, engine cover, etc... but no, it's a terrible car an orphan.
The bias is because you are the majority, and have the loudest voice and dictate to us who has value and who doesn't, almost 6 thousand 91-94 vs 1200 95-96.
I bet anyone of you would trade your cars for a 2005 with the extra 100lbs, Targa with the little 20hp extra.
Maybe the 2002 2005 model years should have some bias over the 91-94 and call your cars crap or orphans.
The 2002-2005 are clearly better and sell for more. Note* they have the Targa and the 100lbs with 20hp more.
Seems like you need some group to dump on, it's repeated over and over most don't know why, they just say crap they heard form others who don't know jack, they'll say it's heavy. 100lbs, lol, these cars weight thousands of pounds.
If 20hp means that much to you get an NC1, Turbo or Super Charger.
The NSX is only 270 -290 horsepower, a Chrysler Pacifica comes with 287-hp. But your killing off 95 -96 for 20hp less than the 97+, A lot of other sports cars can kill us off for having 270 -290 hp we wouldn't like it.
Here's the truth.
The 1995 and 1996 NSX was upgraded and comes with:
Bigger and better rims than the previous yeas
Exhaust is lighter and the exhaust tips are much better.
Targa Top: This is a must have, very nice to ride with the top off. I'm not too lazy to take it off, if it's a sunny day I take it off, move two handles and it's off, Honda even made a special place to store it. if I want it back on take 1 min.
Power Steering: Must have, parking without it, is horrible.
Honda Changed gearing of 2nd gear in Manual Transmission: A little better than going up to 80 mph in 2nd.
Modified airflow to brakes to improve cooling
Throttle-By-Wire: standard on all modern cars.
OBD-II: It's very nice to put my reader on it and get codes instead of the morse code thing.
Limited Slip Differential Changes on manual transmission cars. Went from Torque Control Differential to a Torque Reactive Differential - when combined with Throttle-By-Wire, increases speeds out of a corner by 10%.
Bumper reinforcements were changed to extruded aluminum instead of the stamped steel
Approx. 100lbs heaver than 1991-1994 models due to reinforcements for Targa top,
How could a car, that looks better and comes with all this extra stuff be so bad because of 20 horsepower.
I'm ready for the attacks, to put me back in my 95 -96 place, they'll say, this site is not for you, sell your 95 -96 and buy a real NSX, or banned for not knowing my 95 -96 place in the world, etc... other 95-96 owners are scared and won't speak up, but I will, I know what I have and I don't take bullying.
I haven't mentioned the NC1's they are fast, beautiful cars, 0 to 60 in a little over 3 seconds, I wonder if they're worried about 100lbs and 20hp less.
Maybe they should look down on 91-94 cars, there clearly is a big difference in speed and comfort, etc..
I already know the take over the thread and change the subject to cover the truth up, trick, I'm expecting that too. I'll just re-post.
We need to address this issue, will you take the challenge and have a meaningful dialog regarding this wrong or will keep pretending a group is not getting bullied and marginalized.
Yours truly from the worst NSX ever created.
