Does the Wings West front spoiler simply bolt on like the oem spoiler, or is it attached more solidly like the WW side skirts?

With a black car and the unpainted WW spoiler being black also, I'm tempted to grab one and put it on to see if I like it in person, but if it's more involved than unbolting the old one and rebolting the new one, I'm not sure I want to go to the trouble. I'm getting some paintwork/touchups done soon, so it'd be handy to know if I want the spoiler painted at the same time.

Oh, and while I'm at it, does anyone know what sort of clearance it has on a stock NSX?

Thanks...

This might help, it's the installation PDF for the WW Kit:

http://www.wingswest.com/pdf/NSXTYPIIINSTALL.pdf

It mounts impressively strong adhesive, the clearance is nearly the same as stock, except that it protrudes a bit further forward making approach angles a bit trickier, honestly since I have had the WW front spoiler, I rub less than I did when I had the (three) OEM version(s), perhaps I am just being more careful now :D

If fits on over the OEM lip spoiler and is held on with tape and one screw in each fender liner.

I don't think the unfinished surface will good though. And, make sure you have someone with painting WW products paint it.

Here'a pic of the PANSX turbo in black, with WW front lip & side skirts. This may give you a better idea of finished look (although Gerry has many more "extra's")
I think you maybe wanted to just try for size unpainted - that should be no problem - just don't unpeel the backing to the tape. Once stuck it is really secure! You could use some household double-sided tape for both the front center & even the sides just to get an idea.
I think you'll like it.
Definitely paint it though!

Not 100% sure but I think it is glued or has a sticky backing
It does mount with double-sided tape which comes already applied to the lip -

and you just slap it on after the old on is off.
it is NOT necessary to remove the stock lip, although it becomes superfluous
(i.e. if you were installing a new bumper there would be no need to purchase the stock bottom lip; however if its already there, just leave it on take it off, either way.)

Certainly for trial (or even permanent) fit, no need to remove anything.

Really?

I rub my WW front spoiler way too often.

There are three exits/entrances to my subdivision but I have to take the farthest one because the WW lip scrapes the other two.

Maybe it's time for me to raise the car...

Thanks for the pics I just ordered the WW 5-piece kit from Dali Racing. Now I know what it looks like on a Black Beauty!

Excellent price right now from Mark Johnson at Dali. I guess I'll soon find out the fit and finish when the kit arrives in the next few days?

Please let us know how the kit looks in the box.
i just took delivery of the wings west kit.all the parts are in one box and they are unpainted, although they are black in colour.it looks quite cheapm, but having read some people's oppinions and seen the finished article on the car,i am not at all concerened at how it looks before being preped.

The parts don't look much at all when you see them "as-delivered" - of concern to most is how flexible they appear when unsupported.
When mounted however, there is not issue with flex - completely different when intergrated onto the body. You will find the same with the stock bumper parts - equally as flexible.
Be sure to use a good flex-agent in the paint however.

Thanks, Gheba!
(LOL! - I don't know about the "King" - I just made a few observations while I installed mine, then refined the process a little during a re-install after I removed to get better color-match - you know how picky we NSX'r are!)

I have prepared an install guide on the skirts - I'll post a reference here after it's hosted. Meanwhile if anyone wants a copy, feel free to PM me.

One thing potential WW buyers should be aware of - most of the recent skirts I've seen locally (& its even evident on some pics I've seen here on Prime) is that the they tend to be a little long, especially the right side one. Mine are a little long, maybe 1/8" front & rear but I've seen some much worse recently.
I should advise WW - I think they need to make a correction.

Update: I contacted WW & received a very prompt courteous response back from Justin Sharp, Sales Account Manger at WW who assured me they were aware of this problem & that is has been resolved in the last few months.

Good job Ken!

I think that probably mine was new enough to be correct, but you are right, I also noticed that some kit is longer in the sideskirt. Speciall in the front part of the skirt!

Actually Guiseppe, I think yours are probably same vintage as mine - before the most recent (worst fit) problem. I don't know when the recent problem actually started and have no comparison as to how the "new" ones compare to the initial, older ones. Mine are slightly long but only really recognizable when you go looking for it.
So I wonder if they have returned to initial (slightly long) or are even better now - to quote Justin's words, he stated " The kit should be perfect right now, the way it should have been
from day one. " This would imply that it is even better.
We'll just have to see when someone gets the latest set.

well hopefully Ken,mine will be the new improved set as i only took delivery of them about a week ago.when they are fitted i will take some photos and post them on the prime.
one question,do the rear spats fit over the original rear valence or do you have to cut a part out?

I have mine in a box in the garage that just arrived last week, I will try to measure them and see.

Maybe it is just the cynic in me, but I hope that the reason the Dali price is so good isn't because WW knew of the problem and blew out a bunch of the bad stock at lower cost.

We'll see when I open mine up.

Yes, Tan - yours has the problem too .......... & WW did yours, right? This looks comparible with my vintage - not perfect but not as bad as the ones of a few months back.
